Betty Grable and Anne, Baxter, movie actresses; Mrs. Oa Jol~n- son, famous woman explorer; Mrs. Thomas E. Dewey; Helen Hayes, one of the first ladies of the the- atre; and U. S. Senator ,Margaret Chase Smith of Maine, have been selected as the six best dressed "little women" in America. The announcement comes from Murray Sices, a leading fashion designer. These selections are the result of a nation-wide fashion survey quiz conducted by Sices through a fashion newsletter dis- tributed to 10,000 women five feet five and under, throughout the country. Representing varied fields and professions in which "clothes help to make the woman," the select six will be invited to meet in New York City late this month to re- ceive "Best Dressed" statuette awards from Sices. The winners were selected on a basis of outstanding attire and appearance in public; general ability to wear correct type of clothes for specific occasions and charm and grace. Sices, six years ago, discovered that "little women", under five feet five, were being grossly neg- lected, fashioh and style wise, in comparison with their taller sis- ters.
