THURSDAY, JULY 17, 1941 THE MICHIGAN , DAILY THIIHGA AL T opic Chosen For Summer Parley Session (Continued from Page 1) K. Pollock of the Department of Poli- tical Science; Prof. Howard McClus- ky and Mr. Claude Eggertson of the School of Education and Prof. De- Witt Parker of the philosophy de- partment. The Summer Parley is an outgrowth of the Spring Parley which has pro- vided a medium of faculty-student discussions for many years. The Spring Parley was taken over in 1936 by the Student Senate, which has since added winter and summer conferences. The sessions of the Parley, open to all students and townspeople, are aimed at creating an informal at- mosphere for free discussion of re- ligious, social, and political topics. Symposiums,-questions from the floor, and addresses have been employed to give faculty and students a meeting place unrestricted by classroom con- ventions.
