Davis to Speak Here Will Lecture On Highlights Of University History Institute Cancelled "Highlights in the History of the University of Michigan" will be the topic of an address by Dr. Calvin 0. Davis of the School of Education as he delivers the first in a series of lectures tomorrow sponsored by the education school. Dr. Davis will trace the develop- ment, organization and administra- tion of secondary education and the University in particular from its opening in 1841 with four professors and seven students. The progress from colonial denominational schools to state schools will be emphasized in his speech as well as the expansion of University services throughout the state and nation. As the senior member of the School of Education faculty, Dr. Davis pre- pared the historical study of the School of Education for its 60th an- niversary celebration this year.
