all Tams German Government Inaugurates 'Special Delivery' System For Air Forces

Nazi's special delivery system for aerial troops calls for a parachute leap from planes, with a machine gun carried along. In this drill near Berlin,
one jumper has already started the downward pull while another prepares to leap from the plane.

to tip off rival coaches to his
team's strength so he hinted to
officials that penalties would be
condoned that day.
George Gipp soon got going as he
usually did. He ran 80 y rds for a
score but a linesman was called off-
side. Minutes later, he broke loose
again for a 70 yard run but once
more the play was called back. By
this time the Gipper's hair was be-
ginning to stand up but he said noth-
ing.
But later in the game he caught
a punt, twisted his way through
60 yards of open field, crossed
the goal line standing up only to
have the. now-familiar whistle
blow again.
On his way back to the line of
scrimmage, while still carrying the
ball, Gipp walked close to the of-
ficial and casually remarked while
passing: "Just a suggestion, ref. In
the future give me one whistle to stop
and two to keep running."

British Ryder
Cuppers Lead
In Open Golf
SANDWICH, ENG., July 7.-(PI)-
Bill Cox, Jack Busson and Dick Bur-
ton led the field at the halfway mark
of the British Open Golf Champion-
ship tonight but the three Ryder Cup
players' pace-setting 140s were only
eight shots ahead of the worst player
in the field going into tomorrow's
final 36 holes.
With 37 scoring 148 or better to
qualify, every man in the field had at
least an outside chance of winning.
Busson and Burton both clipped a
stroke off the Royal St. George's
course par of 70 to earn their place
at the top along with Cox who put to-
gether two par 70s for his 36-hole
totai.
A stroke behind at 141 were Bert
and Jim Adams, who scored 70 and
11, respectively, in the second round.
Reginald A. Whitcombe held the 142
all by himself, a stroke ahead of a
virtual unknown, R. G. French.
