THE MICHIGA-N DAILY WEDNESDA Fisher To Give Tea For Foreion Students Friday Cosmopolitan Club Hopes To Bring Together For- eigners And Americans All students on the campus were extended an invitation to attend a tea in their honor to be given at 4 p., m. Friday at the home of Dr. Frederick B. Fisher, '1430 Cambridge Road, according to an announcement made by B. S. Sawra, president of the Cosmopolitan Club. The Cos- mopolitan Club hopes particularly that all new foreign studeints on the campus will attend. The Cosmopolitan Club has for its purpose the bringing together of all foreign and American students res- ident on the Michigan campus in or- der that the natives of the various nations may benefit by the exchange of ideas made possible by close con- tact with others. To that end the/. club regularly fosters, duringdthe winter session as well as the Summer Session, social functions and discussion meetings which tend to promote closer con- tact among the foreign students. Women as well as men are invited to participate in all the activities of the organization. During the last swim held under the auspices of the club an impromp- tu water polo game developed, Miss Hartwig said, and accordingly plans are being made to include water games in the programs in- the fu- ture. Any students wishing to join the club were asked to sign up with Miss Ethel McCormick, social director of women, at thegLeague.cThere is a small fee charged to cover locker expenses, Miss Hartwig added. The second picnic swim for women will be held Friday, Miss Hartwig said. The group will leave from Bar- bour Gymnasium at 5:45 p. m. and officials expect they will return not later than 8 p. m. All women students wishing to take part in this were requested by Miss Hartwig to call in their reser- vations at Room 15, Barbour Gym- nasium, by Friday noon.
