Women's Sport'
Classes Enroll
More Than40
Distinguished Teachers
Supervise Program of
Intensive Training
More than 40 women have en-
rolled in the summer sport sessions
being conducted by the department
of physical education for women, it
was announced yesterday by Dr.
Margaret Bell, director. The enroll-
ment includes women from many
parts of the United States, Dr. Bell
said, and from Canada.
The one-week sessions are being
offered by the department. Inten-
sive training in swimming, hockey,
tennis and golf are given. Nita
Sheffield, well-known swimming au-
thority and a member of the faculty
of Columbia university, is directing
the aquatic work. Mrs. Stewart
Hanley, three times Michigan wom-
en's champion, is in charge of thej
golf sessions and is beingassistedpby
Ray Courtwright, University pro.
The tennis courses are under the
direction of Elizabeth Beall of Cali-
fornia university, while the hockey
work is being supervised by Hilda
Burr, noted English coach.

Offer Class in School
Library Management
In accordance with the increasing
importance of school libraries in
present-day educational programs,
the University of Michigan is offer-
ing this summer, for the first time,
a course in the general management
of such libraries.
This course is primarily for teach-
ers who are in some way connected
with their school libraries, and not
for full-time librarians. The course
consists of a general study of the
organization and administration of
the library. It is designed to be of
value to teachers who do part-time
work in the library.
