A group of talented, on the whole very in- teresting actors, assembled for a few weeks and put on good dramas. There weren't the opportunities of Ipreparation to give festivalian sol- idity to any one of the six produc- tions. There was the talent, how- ever, to give all six attempts in- terest for a larger group than seemed interested. The "Festival" was an attractive event and one earnestly hopes for its repetition. There were interesting actors. Not too inconspicuous among them was Ainsworth Arnold. There was nothing glamorous about Mr. Ar-j nold's work. His part in Serena Blandish was typical: the butler in the play was very pained, very sar- donic, very wise. In Mr. Arnold's version an intricate facial mask conveyed pain : the quality of jmovement through the shoulders the sardonic: the gnomic depths of * * * 1 i ' l -;; '1 _r ', 't ''' ' f ' ,' .{ 1 t ~'_E ''. 5 ' ''' I7 ' , '','" ' .
