To All Concerned:. The demand for parking space adjacent to the!
north door of University Hall is so great and so much space has been
currently wasted by lack of order in parking of cars, that instructions
have been issued to the officer in charge to remove, without further #
notice, the parking tags from any car the driver of which parks in loca-
tion contrary to that designated by the officer on duty; and, also, from
all cars hereafter parked with obvious disregard of economy of space.,
Also, from any car parked in the driveway as distinct from the parkingj
space proper. This order will inconvenience no one who is willing to co-
operate for the general good.
University Committee on Parking.
Former Students of Western State Teachers College. The dinner in
honor of President Waldo which was postponed last week will be held
on Wednesday evening, July 30th, at 6:30 in the Michigan League Build-
ing. All former students are urged to secure tickets at 4018 University
High School.
Observatory Nights: Tickets for Visitors' Nights at the Observatory,
August 4, 5, 6, may be obtained in the office of the Summer Session from1
9 to 12 a. m. and 2 to 5 p. m., Monday, July 28. These tickets are intend-
ed for students of the Summer Session who will present their Treasurer's
receipts when applying for them. Students desiring to avail themselves,
of this opportunity to visit the Observatory should apply for tickets at!

The current program at the
Wuerth presents an unusual num-
ber of short subjects. The news.
reel contains a number of interest-
ing speeches, one of which was by
Michigan's Eddie Tolan. George
Lyons does some of the trickiest
harping that this jazz-mad depart-
ment has heard in a long, long
time. The cartoon is below stan-
dard. "Lost and Foundered," from
the Witwer story, is passable;
". ..And Wife" is not.
William Powell, as that enter-
tainin' sleuth, Philo Vance, drops,
his "g's" and spreads his nonchal-!
ante better than ever before. He is'

re-written for the cinema version.
The crime detection story has
been done so often that it takes a
well c6nstructed plot and a fairly
genuine climax to be convincing;
the director should have recognized
the fact. As it is developed, the
body of this story is distinctly mus-
sy, and the climax hangs "by a
thread," a thread which, in our
opinion, is pretty thin stuff. The
total effect is a picture that must
be classified as rather dull. Murder
will out, you know.
Add to a flimsy story and an
equally flimsy climax (for which,
as we have remarked, Mr. Van Dine
is not responsible) the mediocre
direction and some very bad re-
cording, and even the pleasing
work of William Powell cannot
bring the piece above D. P. M.

idea is better than all the marriage
bureaus put together.
In fact we only had one discour-
aging letter. It ran something like
this-"Two can live as cheap as
one, if one stays outside."
Rolls should talk about the lea-
gue rooms being used for some-
thing useful. Why everybody1
knows that the only thing the
Union ever turns its rooms over to
is a mess of stag banquets or alum-
ni reunions, which aren't exactly
uplifting and certainly not orna-
mental.
Do you know that the more,
think of this raise in tuition next
year, the funnier it gets.. In fact
I am seriously considering devot-
ing the rest of my life to finding
out just what the Health Service
has spent that extra money on,
because yesterday I went over there
and they still had the same white
pills and green liquid medicine. At

least they might change the color.
Another illusion shot! Here we
have grown to accept the tradi-
tional 'Michigan Man' without
question. We are thoroughly con-
vinced that there were no gentle-
men on the campus, just "a well
meaning bunch of college boys."
Furthermore that the word chival-
ry had gone out of vogue with the
unwelcome invasion of the co-ed.
And now you Lawyers and Engin-.
eers have to go and get our ideas
