The first of these; invitations were issued early this week following a conference of I Head Coach Harry Kipke with the' other coaches. Some added invitations will be given, and the squad Coach Kipke leads out ontot Ferry Field on Sep- tember 16th, six weeks from next' Monday, will total about 70 men. Football practice at Michigan, at least, will not start on a Sunday. As the roll is made up at this time, Kipke has an even dozen of a the veterans of the last years cam- paign, although one of these, Straub, is with the baseball team on its way to Japan. He will have alsoD 14 men who saw service either as n substitutes on the Varsity or as a members of the junior Varsity and R Sophomore teams. Ri Twelve Letter Men ue As the list is made up at present Jo the letter men are Captain Trus- kowski, Draveling and Cornwall, ends; Poorman, sub-tackle; Poe Go and Steinke, guards; Simrall and Gi Straub, quarterbacks; Dahlen, Sp Wheeler and Holmes, halfbacks and Gn Gembin, fullback. Other men who were members of the Varsity squad last year in-' elude Parker, guard; Sherwood, center; McBride, halfback, and Hughes, fullback. By positions, the men included in the first list of invitations in- lude 14 ends, 8 tackles, 10 guards, 5 centers and 5 quarterbacks, 11 halfbacks and 6 fullbacks. Much of the squad is new material as 24 of the men on the list are Soph- omores. Seventeen are junior$, many of these not having been members of the football squad be- fore, while 18 classify as Seniors.
