LLOYD GEORGE TRIES FARMING I AU STEPHANSON DIRECTS LITTLE THEATER GROUP IN GRAND RAPIDS E i i ' i 1 (1 4 t S II 4 t R t { II I Coming here from two years of brilliant productions in the Ypsilanti Playhouse, Mr. Paul Stephanson has become one of the most favored of the Rockford Players here this sum- mer. His charactezr interpretations show such a promise for a successful stage career, that it is surprising toE note that his greatest interest lies noty in the acting side of the stage, but rather in the directing. G My theater activities, 1)oth past and )resent have been aimed toward di- iecting and not the actual playing" confesses Mr. Stephanson, "and I have joined the Rockford Players in order to gain this added experience along the acting line. At present my inter- ests are in a small theater which may, j hope, grow into a real one, becomn- ing- an indigenous part of a city. It is such a theater that I have started in Grand Rapids. It will not be sub- sidized, but supported entirely by ,ub)scribers and the audience which ;t draws.
