Coach Bennie Oosterbaan con- cluded two-a-day drills with an extra long practice session yester- day afternoon at Ferry Field. Since classes begin today, the football team's practice schedule will be cut dowri to an afternoon session, thereby dropping the morning meeting which. had been utilized since the squad came out. Yesterday's drills, held in near- perfect weather, found the team getting .something of everything. The backfield started out with running plays, followed by drills in pass defense and pass patterns. The workouts gave hint that the Wolverines passing attack for the IE OOSTERBAAN its practice schedule iks Edge Tigers, 423; eves Stretch NL Lead coming year may be marked by versatility. Oosterbaan had the backfield throwing from three formations--- the tight T, the winged T and the tried and true single wing. Meanwhile, Line Coach Jack Blott was concentrating on defen- sive rushing which featured some body contact. Trainer Jim LIunt came out with the good news that no one was missing because of injuries. Injuries, however, have claimed sophomore Rudd Van Dyne who will be out for the entire season with a shoulder injury. Other Wolverines who had in- juries but suited up yesterday were senior halfback Jack Lousma who is in the process of recovering from an elbow separation, junior end Gary Prahst, senior quarterback Resolved * * LAKE CHARLES, La. )-' The City Council of Lake Charles, home of St. Louis shortstop Alvin Dark, has pass- ed a resolution directing the Cardinals to win the National League pennant and the World Series.
