By SELMA SAWAYA GETT'YSBURG - The newly- installed, honor system at Gettys- burg College will cover all exami- nations, term papers, reports, lab- oratory work and all homework, according to a report by the col- lege's Honor Commission. No proctoring by faculty will ex- ist unless it is necessary for their presence, as fn the case of lan- guage orals or laboratory prac- ticals. Professors will make them- selves available for questions at the beginning of the examinations and inform the class where they may be reached during the re- mainder of the examination. The Commission also suggested, the professor retire to his office if it is in the same building. If it is not, he may remain in the test- ing room with the permission of the class.% The student, under the honor system, is obligated to be honor- able himself and to report any student he observes abusing the code. The honor system passed in an election last spring with a record turnout' of 1,102 voters fron\ an enrollment of 1,355 students. * * * was associ- on most of roadcasts of states, in effect, that if a student drives or owns a car, he must have it registered and buy a sticker. .The price of the sticker is $15, and judging from the many let- ters to the Michigan State editors, the students consider the driving privilege not worth the price. The MSU administration says the $15 is paid for the privilege of driving and parking on campus, whether you drive on campus or not, just as the part of your tui- tion which goes to the athletic de- partment entitles you to see the games, whether you go or not. The fee is used only for building and maintaining parking' and U.S. General Likes Santa WASHINGTON (R)-Gen. Max- well Taylor wants everybody to be sure of one thing this year - he is "100 per cent behind Santa Claus:" The Army chief of staff grinned yesterday at some ribbing ques- tions 'at a National Press Club luncheon. They were inspired by his directive before Christmas lastj year discouraging the exchange of Christmas cards .among officers in the Pentagon. He said then his chief aim was to avoid burdening the Pentagon mail system. "Now I want this understood - I am 100 per cent behind Santa Claus. I am for him every min- ute. But if any Army officer in the Pentagon sends me a Christ- ias card, he is going to have to justify it to me." driving facilities, the administra- tion. has said. They also receive extra revenue in the form of fines which they collect from students who drive without the identifying sticker. One particular student at MSU, Sterling Powell, was fined $25 for possessing an unregistered car in the vicinity of East Lansing. Like many others, Powell is appealing fine, but he has slightly different reasons: 1) He doesn't own a car. 2)His father's car hasn't run for the last six months, and is 100' miles from campus, anyway. 3) His brother owns a car, but that's at Central Michigan College. 4) Neither Sterling, father, or broth- er, have driven within the East Lansing vicinity since the start of the fall term. According to the MSU News, Sterling may "beat the rap." Li BULLETIN (Continued from Page 4) tions open, one for a man to work in Ohio and one in Pittsburgh area.
