Location of Polling Places Designated The great majority of Student Government Council's activities are directed through the Council's intricate committee system. The committees themselves are entirely coordinated through the Council's two vice-presidents. Administrative Vice-President Ron Shorr is responsible for the standing committees and related boards, 'while Executive Vice- President Janet Neary, '58, heads the special committees. Seven Committees The seven standing committees make up the SOC cabinet, which meets with Shorr weekly and is- sues periodic progress reports. Of these, four are considered the pri- mary groups. The Public Relations Commit- tee, under the chairmanship of Sue Rockne, has recently been delegated to try running a regular advertisement in The Daily in the form of an SGC news column, un- til it can be evaluated. Until this year, the group pre- pared a newsletter, "SG Review," to be sent to students. There has been some question on the part of the Council about the effectiveness Advertisement These pages are a paid advertisement of Student Government Council. The Daily staff compiles the in- formation and the Council pays the student rate for the pages. of the newsletter, so the group is now working on a survey to deter- mine the best way to reach the stu- dents. The Student Activities Commit- tee is currently concernod with residence hall financing. New Report Connie Hill's National and In- ternational Committee recently issued 4 report on the National Student Association Congress at a Council meeting. The group working on the South East Asian delegation is one of its sub-committees. N and NIA also works on programs for the inter- national students. The fourth committee is that dealing with Education and So- cial Welfare, which has worked on the Honor System and library hour extensions.
