When a fingernail breaks off
there - re two ways to patch the
damage. You can use a false fin-
gernail, which comes in sizes to,
match your own and is ;held in
place by a special fixative, or
"paint on" a new one with a liquid'
plastic.
To strengthen your nails, try an
overcoat. Applied daily-under the
tips of your fingernails as well as
over the polish-this colorless
overcoat prevents chipping and
keeps the polish shiny.
For touch-ups during the day,
there are nail-polish applicators
that operate on the ball-point pen
principle-the brush slides 'out of
the applicator coated with polish
and ready to work.
When 'applying your polish,
start it within a hairline of the
cuticle. Draw the color up and
around,,.following the oval-shaped
curve of the figernail. Prof es-
sionals . make another hairline
space at top. Do this by running
your finger tip quickly across the
edge of your fingernail.
Finishing touch on- the Nail
Beautiful: moisture creams. In
combination with softening emol-
lients, these go ,a long way towards
eliminating brittleness. Rub cream
in thoroughly' and work it gently
around the cuticle with, an orange
stick.

A new type of stunt-script
*riting-was tried yesterday, Miss
Fisher remarked. "Hello Wildcats"
was the first time Block 'M' has
ever "written."
At the signal "up" a white back-
ground appeared, and at the count
of one, each member with number
one card flashed; then number,
two and so on.
Locomotive Spelled
Traditional last stunt was the
Michigan spellers. As cheerlead-
ers led the spectators in the loco-
motive, yell, Block 'M' formed the
letters M, I, C, H, I, G, A, N.
Block 'M' is also sponsoring a
design contest for Soph Show.
Anyone with ideas for a Soph
Show stunt may 'contact Miss,
Fisher, at Betsy Barbour House.
Contest winner will receive two
free tickets to Soph Show and his
stunt will be displayed at a foot-
ball game. r
