Club Concert Tickets Gone "Tickets for the Glee Club An- nual Spring Concert, to be held at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Hill Aud., have all been given avay," says, Peter Patterson, '59E, publicity chairman. "We would appreciate it very much if those ticket holders who do not plan to attend the concert would return' their tickets to 3519 Administration Building as soon as possible so that those without tickets who want to see the con- cert may attend," he continued. Any returned tickets will be available at the auditorium Satur- day, and seats will be held until starting time, when they will be open to the general public who; were unable to pick up tickets., The Glee Club is present ng its 99th concert at the University. Featured will be soloists Joon- Min Kim, '58, tenor, Warren Jaworski, '60SM, baritone, Dwight Davis, '59E, bass and Bruce Wil- son, '60SM, tenor. The Friars and the Novelaires will present familiar selections as part of the -concert. The Glee Club will sing their medley of Michigan songs, some of which were ar- ranged for the club by Prof. Philip Duey of the School of Music who is director of the Club and will also direct the concert. Prof. Duey appeared in some of the earliest Vitaphone movie shorts and sang in some of the first synchronized-sound motion pictures. He was a member of the original New York cast of the musical comedy, "Good News." He also published "Bel Canto in its Golden Age," a book tracing the history of the teaching of singing back into the Seventeenth and 18th Centuries in Italy, and during the academic year of 1955- 56 he did extensive research in the vocal ornamentation of the 17th Century as a Fulbright schol- ar in Italy. Hillel To Host District Meet For Weekend Social, Cultural Events To Occupy Delegates; Some Open to Public "Israel: Land, People, Ideals - Their Interrelationships" will be the theme of the Mid-West Re- gional Institute of the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundations Conference to be held on campus this weekend. Approximately 60 delegates will come to the Conference from uni- versities and colleges in Michigan, Ohio, and Pittsburgh. Besides -dinners, study sessions, and workshops for the delegates, there will be social programs open to the public. Friday's S a b b a t h Services, sponsored by Phi Epsilon Pi, will be held at 7:45 p.m. Rabbi Kaplan to Spek Rabbi Harry Kaplan, director of the Hillel Foundation at Ohio State University and regional di- rector of B'nai B'rith, will give an opening lecture on the "Historical Background of Israel" at 8:30 p.m. in Brasley Lounge at Hillel Foun- dation., This will be followed by an "Oneg Shabbat," a program of folk dancing and singing at 10 p.m. in Glick Social Hall. Plan Jewish Art Program A "Jewish Art Evening," a cre- ative program given by all the Foundations participating in the Conference, will begin at 9 p.m. The program will include a dance-drama entitled "Salute to Israel" presented by the Western Reserve Foundation.. Ohio State student Phil Saun- ders will give an interpretive read- ing' of the creation story. Also planning to take part in the program are students from Kent State University in Ohio and the University of Cincinnati. The University of Cincinnati will sponsor the Sunday morning Sabbath Services. VU Research Activities .Lure Fair Visitors Visitors from the National Sci- ence Fair, being held in Flint this week, will visit the University to- morrow to inspect research acti- vities. The visitors, about 250 students and adults, drawn from 157 local science fairs across the nation will be greeted at Rackham building by University President Harlan Hatcher and Prof. Wilbur C. Nel- son, chairman of the aeronautical engineering department.
