300 S.

Pushing in and out of the elbow-
to-elbow crowd at the Michigras
carnival and attempting to get
into one's chosen booth became
more of a sport than trying to
shoot people with ping pong balls
or "raise the rocket."
Once entrance to a booth was
gained,- however, entertainment
was varied and plentiful. Pictures
were taken and printed in 60 sec-
onds, "girlie" movies were viewed,
Jazz was played, and tranquilizers
taken.
Hands sticky from cotton candy
clutched tightly to the precious
Michibucks, and feet weary from
treading the vast Field House
gratefully shed their shoes once
inside an entertainment booth.
Outside, lights whizzed merrily
in concentric circles as the ferris
wheel and whirl-a'-gig spun their
passengers. Eleven rides, the larg-
est number ever to appear in
Michigras, brought varied reac-
tions. "Oh, we haven't been on this
one yet!" eager coeds exclaimed,
while their green - faced dates
merely shuddered.
Normalcy prevails again today
on campus, with Michigras gone
and only a memory-and perhaps
an empty wallet-to remind one
of the year's biggest weekend.
