Leaving the University at 9 a.m. Saturday, the charter bus ar- rived in Birmingham an hour and a half lster. The students wenit to the home of an alumna, where they received coffee, doughnuts and introductions to their host families. . The Americans will visit the par- ents of the'students while in Ar- gentina and Germany, she said. One of the students invited to Birmingham told her of being performed a more direct service, Mrs. Mead continued. He wants to buy a car for $150 and the hosts are going to shop for him, she said. Meet Others Sunday Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Mead said, the participating students had the opportunity of meeting more Americans at one time than at any other time off-campus. The host family, in whose house the coffee and doughnuts had been dispensed, invited students and families who had entertained them into their home. Many of the host's neighbors stopped by to meet the visitors, she declared, providing a fitting end to the pro- gram.
