EMOw grg THE MICHIGAN "DAILY THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 1958 Mosher Hall Establishes Ho nor Plan Undergraduates Work As House Counselorsa By MARGARET MOORE Mosher Hall experimented with an Honor Resident program dur- ing the last semester in which undergraduate students acted as residtnt counselors on two floors. According to House President Lee Hunt, '59, the undergraduate counselors met a definite need at Mosher because "they had a' greater circulation among the girls, were more cognizant/of dif- ficulties girls might have, and consequently established a great- er rapport." The upperclassmen also became better oriented and better ac- quainted with and interested in freshmen. However, Miss Hunt remarked, the upperclassmen pre- ferred to- counsel with graduate counselors, as they were usually concerned with requirements and interests after graduation. Two-Fold Plan This program is part of a two- fold plan initiated last fall. In the second plan, operating in Kleinstuck House, Alice Lloyd, the Honor Resident works with indi- viduals and groups in an interpre- tative and coordinating role in relation to the over-all program of the house: During the school year 1958-59, plan one will also become effective in Stockwell and plan two in Vic- tor Vaughan. A total of- 16 to 20 Honor Residents will be needed for the four houses. Informational meetings will be held Wednesday and March 13 in the Michigan League for Interest- ed sophomores or juniors. Appli- cation blanks and recommenda- tion forms may be procured from the Office of the Dean of Women or the. Undergraduate Office of the League and must be returned by March 17.
