Working in co-operation with the Association of German Broad- casters, the programs represent planning on eight regional radio and television networks in West Germany and Berlin. The pur- pose of the programs is to acquaint American audiences with cultural and musical life in Germany to- day. ty improvements. The plan calls for expansion of ater and sewage f ac ilit ie s iroughout the city. City Administrator Guy Larcom xplained these improvements ill provide for further industrial search facilities in the North ampus area, heavy industry in he Pittsfield valley area, and )mmercial industry on the West de of the city. Included ini the plan are pro- sions for parks and traffic safe- improvements, a new outdoor vimming pool and city hall, an iditional fire station and muni- pal service center. Money for these projects will e provided from tax-supported >nds which will cover a thirty- ear period. The time planned for ately. The complete plan has the approval of the City Council, city Democrat and Republican organi- zations, the Ann Arbor Board of Realtors and the Chamber of Commerce. Publicity has been handled by the planning commission which has sent detailed brochures to Ann Arbor residents and the Citizens Capital Improvement Committee. Gage Cooper, campaign chairman of the committee commented that Ann Arbor residents can enjoy the benefits of this- plan for the price of a three cent stamp per indi- vidual per day. Although officials are unwilling to make any predictions as to the outcome of the balloting they re- port that there is no organized opposition to the plan. The series consists of four half- hour programs. Notable among other stations carrying the pro- grams is WQXR of the New York Times. "Music From Germany" is done in English and consists almost completely of music recorded by the Association of German broad- casters on high fidelity master tapes. Short narratives give the background of the musical works presented. The second program of the series will be broadcast today at 9:30 over WUOM. It will feature old and little known chamber mu- sic by Kuhlau, Weber, Haydn and Quantz. Featured artists will be so- prano Erna Berger and pianist Maria Bergmann. The third program, to be broad- cast Feb. 21, will feature opefettas by Gerhard Winkler. The last show, Feb. 28, presents chamber music played on old instruments by the Collegium Musicum of Cologne. Composers to be repre- sented include Adam Kriger, Mekchior Franck, Johann Rosen- mueller and Johann Casper Horn.
