Committee members have sche- duled a meeting from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Friday, at the League to dis- cuss the program with interested women. They will explain the ap- plication process and distribute forms which must be returned to the Dean of Women's Office by 5 p.m., May 21. Interviews will be held May 24 and 25. Composed of three dormitory directors, one graduate counselor, five dormitory presidents, chair- man of Interviewing and Nomin- ating Committee and Miss Mul- hollen,. the Committee was origin- ally appointed in the fall of 1955 by Dean of Women Deborah Ba- con. The idea was born, Miss Mulhol- len explained, out of comments the Dean of Women's office had re- ceived over the years, pointing out that upperclassmen did not func- tion as fully as they might in the residence hall system. HELP WANTED Actual work, began in the spring of 1956. Chairman Mulhollen said. The Committee met bi-weekly to analyze the objectives of residence halls. They found that dorms should 1) provide housing and 2) supplement the educational pro- gram of the University through group living. Withboth points they tried to determine if undergraduate ser- vice would be more beneficial, considered the issue carefully and six weeks ago, after almost a year of working with people in and out of dorms, decided that most functions within the areas were adequately covered under the present system. The Committee then turned its attention to the "possible develop- ment of some new area," Miss Mul- hollen said. Meeting once a week, they fnially came up last Saturday with the proposed honor resident plan. Miss Mulhollen emphasized that the plan is "only a nucleus of something that still needs elabora- tion and development." Because of the time element, she said, the Committee wasn't able to completely set up a pre-service and in-service training program.- In the next year, Miss Mulhollen added, "we hope that part of the old Committee together with new members will continue of function in an advisory capacity until the plan is on its feet." Group Leader ostions Open The Union is still accepting ap- plications for fall orientation lead- ers. Interested students may sign up for interviews this week from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Union Stulient Offi- ces. Interviews will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Students from the literary, en- gineering and architenture and design colleges and the business aaministration school are especi- aly requested to sign up, accorl- ing to Barry Shapiro, '59. Those who are accepted as ori- entation leaders will receive notice during the summer. 4-4P 4WEEK'S Diaper Service NATIONAL'S EXCLUSIVE "NO- FOLD" DIAPERS FIT YOUR BABY Beautiful polyplastic container . . .
