Poet Brewster Ghiselin will read from his poetry at 4:10 p.m. today in Auditorium A, Angell Hall. Ghiselin, author of "Against the Circle," and "The Net," is also known for his critical articles on Hart Crane, James Joyce, and b.H. Lawrence. ris e ad aed at many oLnei e egaL difficulties posed by atomic energy have yet to arise. Much present re- search on the legal aspects of atomic power is devoted to specu- lation as to what sort of problems- may develop and how they might be solved. Liability for injuries to both wprkmen and the general public resulting from the operation of atomic industrial equipment is Prof. Estep's own special interest. The quiet lawyer added that "within two or three years we're going to have to solve some of these problems." Congress, he ex- plained, is already concerned with the problem of atomic injury or damage insurance. Heads Research Center In addition to his work on the legal problems created by atomic' energy, Prof. Estep is also the director of the Law School's Legis- lative Research Center. The Center, the only one of its kind in the nation, is a group re- search project examining the field of state legislatures and legisla-I tion. In connection with the Legisla- tive Research Center, Prof. Estep is now in charge of its work on a series of books, "Current Trends in State Legislation," three volumes of which have been published. His experience with atomic en- ergy law is useful here, as state regulation of atomic energy is involved. . Although his legal work occupies most of his time and interest, he is an enthusiastic golfer when he escapes from professional affairs and has been faculty champion several years. Falk Speaks On Morality Acting morally involves acting for both personal and social rea- sons, Prof. W. D. Falk said yester- day. The Senior Lecturer of the Uni- versity of Melbourne, Australia, said that it is wrong to speak of actions done for one's own good as not moral, unless one is using the term in a limited sense. Prof. Falk spoke of several er- rors which have helped to create the feeling that personally-in- spired actions are not moral. One of these errors, he said, is the impression that everything a person does for himself is inspired by prudence or expediency, and is therefore not moral. In reality, the person is motivated by what will serve him best, which may not be the most prudent or expedient course. He mentioned artists and explorers as among those who serve themselves best by acting courageously. A second error is that of equat- ing prudence with expediency. What happens to serve at the mo- ment may not be the most pru- dent course, he said.
