Mrs. Diem has come to the United States to attend a Recre- ational Conference which is being held in Philadelphia this month. She has also included visits to West Coast universities and George Williams College in Chicago dur- ing her stay in this country. Mrs. Diem is active in the League Committee The Interviewing and Nomi- nating Committee of the League has chosen its fall committees. New special projects member is Joan Rodman and social committee members. are Lenore Fink, Barbara Holmberg and Katherine Johnson. The new permanent member of the league house judiciary is Sue Glober. Executive secretary of Senate is Nancy Bausch and the chair- man of the house committee of the League is Gertrude Scheib. Junior Girls' Play transposer- arranger is Axel Basford and scenery chairman is Roxanne Petterson. Carol Jones is cos- tumes chairman and stunts chairman is Kay Mackey. Assistant props chairman is Martha Krueger and Carey Wall is usher committee chair- man. Sawyer-Brawbaw The engagement of their dau- ghter, Katie, to Frank Brabaw, son of Mrs. Hellen Brabaw of Port- Huron, has been announced by Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Sawyer of Port Huron. Miss Sawyer graduated from Eastern Michigan College of Edu- cation in June 1955. While in school she was a member of the Sigma Nu Phi sorority. Mr. Sawyer is a senior in the school of Engineering at the Uni- versity and belongs to Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. A June wedding is planned at the Port Huron Grace Episcopal Church. .s Directress Students at U' physical education program, as a whole, but most of her time at Cologne is spent in the area of teacher training, gymnastics and correctives. The assistant director was re-' cently honored by the American Academy of Physical .Education by being voted into its member- ship. 'U' Talks Mrs. Diem will lecture first to the combined group of men and women physical education majors of the University of Michigan. She will then speak to classes in cor- rective physical education, com- munity recreation, and rehabili- tation through physical education. Also included in her itinerary while at the University is a lec- ture to one of the classes of ele- mentary education majors. At this time she will show movies of physi- cal education activities as they are taught in Germany. Homecoming Dance" Homecoming Dance will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. tomorrow night at the I-M Building. Count Baise and his orchestra will pro- vide the music for dancing. Known as the 'mudbowl' game, this event will take place at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow on the corner of Washtenaw Avenue and South University. This series was started in 1936 and continued until the war years. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon frater- nity won three games and tied two while the Phi Delta Theta's won eleven games throughout the years. Referrees for this year's mud- bowl game will be Dick Balzhiser, fullback on the 1953 football team and Harry Allis, fullback in 1950. Coach for Sigma Alpha Epsilon will be Dick Weiss and for Phi Delta Theta, Frank Gazzola will be directing the plays. Besides the football game, a mudbowl queen will be chosen by Dr. Don B. Feather, Ass't Director of Admissions, Dean of Men Wal- ter B. Rea and Bill Cross, Ass't Dean of Men. At this time women's housing groups will dress up a male student as their queen in the contest. Judges will base their de- cisions on originality, femininity and typical coed dress. The judging of the mudbowl queen will take place at 9:15 a.m. At 9:45 a.m. the first half of the football game will be played. At 10:15 a.m. Collegiate Sorosis will challenge Kappa Alpha Theta sorority to a soccer game. At 10:30 a.m., the mudbowl queen award will be given and at 10:40 the Sig- ma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Delta Theta pledge bands will march.
