Conducted as a University ser- vice to the retail pharmacists of Michigan since the early 1920's, the annual "refresher course" is sponsored by the College of Phar- macy in cooperation with the Michigan Branch of the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Washtenaw County Pharma- ceutical Association. The day's program, which will be held in the amphitheatre of the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, will consist of five lectures. High lighting .the annual ban- quet Wednesday evening will be an address by Dr. W. Paul Briggs. ORPHEUM ENDING TODAY THE POIGNANT DRAMA OF MODERN MAGDALENE 'U' Quartet To Present First Sho S-So The Stanley Quartet will make its first- television appearance of the 1956-57 season at 10:30 a.m. today over station WWJ, Channel 4. The concert is first of a series which deal with the development of chamber music from Haydn to the present. Members of the quartet are Gil- bert Ross and Emil Raab, violins, Robert Courte, viola and Oliver Edel, cello. The quartet will also give a concert at 8:30 p.m., October 30 in Rackham Lecture Hall. The program will include Bee- thoven's Quartet in F major, Quartet No. 7 by Finney and Mo- zart's Quintet in A major. A second Ann Arbor concert is scheduled for December 4. Other appearances of the quar- tet will include a series of con- certs in Detroit beginning Octo- ber 26 and continuing through March 15.
