4 Q, SEPTEMBER 25, 1955 THE MICHIGAN DAILY PAGE NIM ._ Orientation Program To Be Given By ISA From 4 to 9'p.m. today the In- ternational Center in cooperation with the.International Students Association will present an orien- tation program at the Center for all international students. The program will begin with the showing of slides of scenes in Michigan and at the University. Supper will follow this at, 6 p.m. University songs will be sung at this time with an assist from music school students. Also included in the program will be a panel discussion by mem- bers of the International Students Association, the Center staff and Student Government Council. The program will end with a film on how to watch a football game foll- owed by a social period. Reception at Rackham At 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, a reception for new foreign students will be held at Rackham Hall. Dancing will follow the re- ception. This, event is open to fac- ulty 'nd international students only. The week of Sunday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 24, has been proclaimed United Nations Week and the Center has scheduled sev- eral events for this period. From 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, a tea will be held at the center. Prof. M. S. Sundaram, cultural attache at the Indian embassy in Washington will be the speaker. Sports Day Saturday, Oct. 22, has been set aside as International Sports Day. This event will be held all day at the IM Building. Harry Lunn, former Daily man- aging editor, will present the key- note address at the Program to be presented on Sunday, Oct. 24 in Haven Hall. Following his ad- dress a debate on a current con- troversial issue wil be presented by four students. Another scheduled program will feature films on the UN. A speak- er from the UN will also be pres- ent. International desserts will be served at a small charge to students attending this affair to which the entire campus has been invited.' Variety Program Also on the schedule for UN Week is an International Cultural Variety Program which will fea- ture music, dancing and poetry of various cultures. Dates and times for these two programs will be announced later. As a service to foreign students the International Students Asso- ciation has set up a drivers service through which students can work together finding apartments for newcomers and meeting trains, planes and buses. B uro-Ca ts There will be a meeting at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the League for all women who were mem- bers of Buro-Cats last year. These women were sent cards over the summer asking them to help in the League until after rushing, and during the orien- tation of new Buro-Cats. The room number will be posted. U' Blazers To Be Sold At New Pool Piping To Be Featured Crest, Extra Pocket, On Jackets for Coeds WAA University of Michigan blazers, for coeds, featuring a crest on the pocket, will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the women's pool. The jackets come in two styles- one of heavy flannel in navy blue, grey and white, and the other of shetland tweed in white only. Both are fully lined. Coeds may choose from a var- iety of trims as navy piping on white blazers, gold on blue or grey and without any piping at all. There is no extra charge for this. An optional University crest is available to go on the pocket in gold or navy. An extra pocket is included as a special feature. This may be used to replace the crest after a student graduates. WAA representatives will be on hand to take orders for the blazers along with a professional fitter from a - clothing company. De- livery of the jackets will be in approximately six weeks.
