Although details of the meeting were not released, it reportedly concerned the Daily Cardinal, Wisconsin's student newspaper, and the university's policy towards the Labor Youth League. Wisconsin is the only university in the nation which grants full privileges to the Labor Youth Lea- gue which is listed as subversive by the Attorney General. Refuses to Define 'Americanism' At the same time, the legion in- formed the Wisconsin Liberal Club that it refuses to define "Ameri- canism." The Wisconsin Liberal Club requested the legion's defini- tion after the legion began its original inquiry into the staff of the Daily Cardinal. "We have never attemted an official definition of the American Way of Life as you suggest," G. E. Sipple, department commander said in a letter to the club.
