He got off a good kick but an offside penalty nullified the play and he had to kick over. Wolver- ine right tackle John Morrow blocked his second attempt and Michigan had the ball on the Spartan 21. From there, short ground gains moved the ball over the goal-line and Kramer con- verted to make the score 14-7. The rest of the game moved swiftly with neither team creating any scoring threats. Sellout Crowd Most of the 97,239 fans, a sell- out crowd, who saw the game were disappointed in not being able to see some spectacular pass-catch- ing by Kramer. But it seemed as if there weren't many opportuni- ties to get the ball to him. MVost of the afternoon, Michigan was in its own territory and all it could do was to get out on the ground, without giving Michigan State a chance to get at the ball. As Coach Bennie Oosterbaan commented after the game, "We didn't have the ball enough and' when we did, we weren't in a position to pass." It was a good show of strength for the Spartans who surprised many fans with their straight power plays through the Wolver- ine line. They punctured the guards and tackles at will and relied on the speed of Peaks and sophomore halfback Walt Kow- alczyk to carry the pigskin through the holes. Kowalczyk proved he could run with the best of them, picking up 27 yards on the ground. Pass Defense Alert The Michigan pass defense was alert as usual, picking off three of the seven forward passes thrown by the Green and White and re- turning them for a total of 52 yards. Injuries plagued the Wolver- ines yesterday as Baldacci left the game with an ankle injury, quar- terback Jim Van Pelt retired with a sore back, tackle Bill Kolesar was helped off the field with a knee injury, and Captain G, Ed- gar Meads left late in the game with a head injury. The serious- ness of these injuries won't be known until early next week. I a FREE PICKUP AND DELIVERY DRY CLEfNING or SHIRT LAUNDERING OPEN YOUR PERSONAL CHARGE ACCOUNT TODAY,
