THURSDAY, MAY 10, 1956 THE MICHIGAN DAILY PACM tnliP THURSAY, MY 10 1956UE MCHU vs'T f~tLY fs. Y lx 1' t' l t': Questionaire Discussed By Senators By SUE RAUNHEIM At the Women's Senate meeting held 4 p.m. yesterday in the League, Sue Arnold, president, an- nounced that petitioning is open for executive secretary. Any student who is a past or present senator is eligible for this position. Petitions should include what the student hopes to see ac- complished in Senate next year and a description of what the job entails. Petitions should be one type- written page long and are due Wednesday, May 16 in the League Undergraduate Office. Interview- ing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17 and from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Members-At-Large Chosen Elections were held for two sen- ators-at-large with Dorothy New- ton and Catherine Clark being elected. These women will act as a steering committee by deciding discussion topics for the senate meetings. Next, Alice Basford, member-at- large gave the results of the quest- ionaires which were based on the automatic late permission system for women's housing units. Valid Reasons Senators were asked what they thought were valid reasons for giving late permission extensions to students during the week. Most of the senators seemed to feel that necessity and educational trips, such as going to the ballet or opera in Detroit would be valid. One senator brought up the fact that many affiliated women who live in a sorority annex must use up their automatic late permis-' sions to perform sorority functions thus having no late permissions for themselves. Sue Arnold stated that these problems would be brought up before the next Jud- iciary Council.
