1' THE MICHIGAN DAILY THURSDAY, APRIL 19. 1956 Collecting, Designing Sports Cars Hobby of Clothier ; Z r lated to Al Sigman, Michigan tackle, which further increases his interest in the sport. However, Goldman's first love is sports cars. He has raced in forty or fifty races and in 1953 placed eleventh in national point standings in the U.S. Sebring Race He has raced in competition all over the United States. His most recent race was the Sebring In- ternational Sports Car Race held in Sebring, Florida. Goldman and Ray Crawford, recent winner of the Pan-American road race drove for the Corvette team. When questioned whether he would let his sons, Max, 14, and Edward, 11, race when they grow older, Goldman replied negatively. He said, "I take them for a drive once in a while, other than that they have no contact with the cars." He explained that the fam- ily had just acquired a new cus- tom-built Karmann-Ghira Volks- wagon which is used for driving in Ann Arbor. In conclusion, Goldman com- mented, "I hope to race until I'm fifty and then I'll retire. That leaves me about twelve years left in the business," he laughed.
