THE MCHIGAN DAILY THURSDAY, APRIL 1211SO4 TH IHGNDAL HRDY ARL1.15 ampus Landmark Celebrates Centennial Next Year Scholarship Petitions Petitioning for the campus' first Student Activities Scholarship awards will close Monday. Merrill Kaufman, '56E, chair- man of the Scholarship Board which operates under Student Government Council, said yester- day that awards up to a total of $450 will be made approximately a month after submission of peti tions. Application for award is judged by the seven-member student ad- ministration Board equally on the basis of a student's participation in activities and his financial need. Eligible for the awards are all students whose over-all academic average is at least a 2.5. This spring will be the first time the award will be given. It was established with and is being initially supported by a $2,000 grant of Student Legislature upon its dissolution a year ago. In the future the awards will be partially financed by such projects as Home- coming Dance. According to Kaufman, the Stu- dent Activities Scholarship is the first scholarship of its type at the University. "In addition," Kaufman said, "it is administered by a body com- prised mostly of students." Interested students may obtain information either at SGC offices in Quonset Hut A or at 113 Ad- ministration Bldg.
