Ten houses participated to fill spaces in their quotas, left by members who have dropped out of school for non-academic reasons. Alpha Chi Omega pledged Janet McElroy and Alpha Epsilon Phi, Cheryl Hubar and Judith Levy:. New Neophytes Becoming Alpha Gamma Delta neophytes were Gay Gerber, Mar- ilyn Beam and Joan Borgerding. New Alpha Omicron Pi pledges in- clude Carolyn Preish, Nancy Weh- ner and Patricia Wolfe. Emily Moulthrop became a pros- pective Alpha Phi and Anne Rouse, a future Collegiate Sorosis. Delta Gamma bid Beverly Blea- kley, Marie Brumley and Gertrude McKewen. Pledge Eight Delta Phi Epsilon topped the houses in the number of coeds pledged, taking eight women, in- cluding Bonnie Albion, Selma Den- berg, Cindy Grand and Shaela El lensweiz. Judith Kessler, Deborah, Kope lov, Jacqueline Mirner and Connie Zipperman complete the list. Mary Ann Pahl went Gamma Phi Beta while Marjorie Beal, Ellen Goldman, Barbara Rose and El- len Zinner pledged Sigma Delta Tau. Panhel has also revealed a new- ly created position open to either a sophomore or junior coed. As sec- retaiial manager, she would be of- fiice manager of the Panhel office. Other duties will include mem- bership on the Panhellenic Exec- utive Council and heading the sec- retariat. Additional posts which are available to both sophomores and juniors include chairman of hous- ing, chairman of foreign relations and chairman of alumnae rela- tions. Women of any class may peti- tion for the four memberships on the Public Relations Committee and the four places on the Secre- tariat. Set Deadline Applications are due Tuesday, April 10, and interviewing will be Wednesday and Thursday, April 11 and 12. Petitions may be picked up and returned" to the Undergraduate Of- fice in the League. Only the first page of the blank need be filled out for these positions. The Association has sent Susan Sturc of Sigma Delta Tau to the mock United Nations assembly this weekend at the University of Wis- consin. Wednesday marks the deadline for applications for the two $100 Panhel scholarships. Committee Issues Call For Tutors Students with the right qualifi- cations may help other students brush away those "mid-semester blues," and make some money at the same time. The League Merit . Tutorial Committee needs tutors, especially in chemistry and physics. How- ever, anyone desiring to act as a tutor in other subjects,. may also contact Mary Lou Kierdorf at NO 2-3153 or the Undergraduate Of- fice of the League. In order to qualify as a tutor, a student must have received a "B" in a subject which is in his major field or an "A" in any other course. The Merit-Tutorial Committee aids students who are seeking aca- demic help by providing them with the name and phone number of a tutor specializing in their par- ticular subject. The tutor and student make their own arrangements for the time and place of tutoring. Hourly rates are charged with the fee of 1 an hour for every subject except physics and chemistry. These are $2 an hour. Anyone who would like to make use of the tutoring service may leave his name in the Undergradu- ate Office of the League. The Merit-Tutorial Committee also keeps a card file containing in- formation on the activities of all undergraduate women. Members of the Maize and Blue Teams for Frosh Weekend will be- gin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. today in the League.{ During the past week the re- spective teams have named the coeds who will have the lead in parts in each floor show. Acting leads for the Blue Team are Mary McIoskie, Sophy Sham- bes, Lorella Green and Toby Wei- ner. Mary Morrow will do a spe- cialty dance act. Paino accompan- ist is Sally Olmstead. Script Committee Coeds on the script committee, headed by Lenore Fink who is floorshow chairman, have writ- ten the 1956 Blue Team show which will be presented on Friday, April 27 in the League. Other coeds on the committee are Edwina Croll, Lynn Fieldman, Mary McMullan, Nancy Robinson, Fern Frisby, Lois Kapp, Mary Jane Volmar, Mary Murphy and Judy Campbell. Blue Team's competitors, the Maize Team has also selected the Rehearsals To Begin For Frosh Weekend coeds who will portray the leads of their floorshow to be given on Saturday, April 28, in the League. Maize Cast Members of the cast are Rose- mary Palen, Carol Applebaum, Melba Maltenfort, Marilyn Selb, Joan Logan and Lee Seraff. Shel- ly Nachman will be the piano ac- companist. Headed by Linda Green who is assisted by Maureen Murphy, the script committee for the Maize. Team includes Rosalie Rue, Judy Sanders, Mickey Greenspon, and Sally Coon. The work of these teams will culminate when they present their respective floor shows and dances to the campus. Then the teams will be judged on decorations, floorshow, programs, ticket design, the amount of dues collected, num- ber of tickets sold and the total dance cost.
