(Wear Jeans) Mor} Needed In Pharmacy Reports Deno There is a definite shortage of trained pharmacists in Michigan and throughout the country, ac- cording to Prof. Richard A. Deno of the School of Pharmacy. In a recent report to the Michi- gan Council of State College Presi- dents, Prof. Deno, in conjunction with representatives from other schools, recommended that an at- tempt be made to train more men in pharmacy. "Right now in the state we need ab'out 8% more pharmacists," Prof. Deno said. What is making the situation es- pecially bad in Michigan Prof. Deno explains, is that every year about 20% of University pharmacy graduates are lost to the state either by going into different pro- fessions or by leaving the state. "If all graduates in Michigan's four pharmaceutical schools would stay in pharmacy and if every school's capacity for students were filled we would have no trouble withthis shortage," added Prof. Deno.
