On the trombones of the Hal Singer aggregation will be Jim Hubbard, Ray Young and Gordon McCarture, while Dave Lorch will play the baritone saxophone. Emerson Head will play the bass for the orchestra. Strumming a guitar will be Skeeter Tepruelli, as Ralph Roberts takes over the drums. Alleyeats To Play In the Ann Arbor Alleycats quin- tet, Carl Reilly will play the trom- bone; Ernie Mercuril, piano; Bob Shanahan, trumpet; Jim Gold- berg, drums and John Berwald, clarinet. Specialty of the Alleycats is Dixieland jazz, which they will play in-between danceable num- bers. The group has been in opera- tion for six years. During intermission, the Friars Octet from the Men's Glee Club will sing. 'Rite of Spring' Theme of the annual semi-for- mal dance will be "The Rite of Spring," combining moods of spring and St. Patrick's Day. Women attending will be given rose corsages at the dance. A photographer will be on hand to take pictures of the couples. Eachcouple will be required to pay Sfor their picture at the dance. Tickets on Sale Tickets for the affair will be on sale from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. tomor- row through Friday in the Ad- ministration Building. General chairman of the IHC dance is Drake Duane. Tom Frank and Jim Lambert will take charge of decorations. Publicity co-chairmen are Lam- bert and Duane. Tom Martin will arraige eter- taibment, while Dick Pomp an will take charge of tickets and pro- grams. Coeds To Model In Fashion Show Sponsored by ISA Coeds interested in modeling in a fashion show sponsored by the International Students' Associa- tion, may come between 1 and 5 p.m. Wednesday to the Ann Arbor Room of the League for further information. Ten .women will be needed to model the American fashions, which will comprise approximately half of the ,show. Coeds who have had. some experience in this field ' are also needed to direct. The fashion show will be one of thekhighlights of International Week and will be held Wednesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 10 in the Ballroom of the Union. Date of the mass meeting for all interested in helping on other committees will be announced later. Michigras Booths May Use Larger Size in Wall Boarding Three Groups Will Award Scholarships Campus Organizations To Announce Winners At Installation Night Three campus organizations are offering five scholarships of 100 dollars each for women students. Applications for the scholarships may be picked up and turned in at the League Undergraduate Of- fice. Scholarship winners will be an- nounced at Installation Night. * * * Ethel McCormick .. . Interested junior women may petition for three Ethel McCor- mick scholarships of 100 dollars each. Tley will be awarded on the basis of a coed's leadership ability, as shown in the participation of campus activities, character and scholarship. Applications for the awards may be picked up until Friday. Coeds may sign up for interviews be- tween tomorrow and Friday. A scholarship of 100 dollars will be awarded to a junior woman by Mortar Board, all-campus senior women's honorary. It will be given on the basis of scholarship, campus activities and financial need. Senior Society, independent sen- ior women's honorary, is offering a 100 dollar scholarship for women who are second semester juniors or first semester seniors. The coed must have a two-point overall average. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need, leadership and service to the University. Applications will be due Wed- nesday, March 28. Interviewing will be held Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11. Reception Today James A. Lewis, VicePresi- dent of University Affairs, will' be the special guest of the In- dian Students Association re- ception at 7:30 p.m. today in the International Center. The reception will include a program of Indian entertain- ment and an address by Robert Klinger, director of the Inter- national Center. Order blanks for supplies are due at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Michigras office in the Union. Representatives who wish to order this pan ling, must add it to their blanks afore they are handed in. Lynne Garver, co-chairman of booths, said that four-by-12 sheets of paneling are now available, in addition to the four-by-eights. Helps Constructionf "Since booths under the bal- cony in the Field House are 12 feet high," she explained, "larger sheets willmake construction easi- er. "To calculate how many sheets a booth will require," Miss Gar- ver continued, "figure how many running feet the front and sides have to cover and divide by four." Miss Garver remarked that the new boards are available ingreen and ivory. The three-sixteenths inch size will be the only one or- dered. Trophies To Be Given Trophies will be awarded to win- ning booths and parade floats entered in Michigras. All proceeds netted from this weekend of fun and entertainment will go to charity. The two-day event will be pre- sented Friday, April 20 and Sat- urday, April 21, with late permis- sion of 1:30 a.m. being provided' for women students both nights.
