Sum- mary of proceedings of the meeting of March 18, 1955 held in the Michigan Union. John Baity was elected from the ex- officio membership to serve as tempo- rary chairman of the Council. Regular meetings of the Student Gov- ernment Council will be held in the Michigan Union on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. In exception to this schedule, the next regular meeting will be held on Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. A special organizational meeting will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 8;30 p.m.d Election of officers was scheduled for the meeting of March 30. Stanley Levy was named to the Board in Review as temporary appointee. The three standing committees of the Committee on Student Affairs, namely the Constitutions Committee, Calendaring Committee, U n i v e r s i t y Housing Committee, and also the Stu- dent Activities Center Building Study Committee were sustained on a tern- porary basis, with their present chair- men. The recommendation of the SGC Steering Committee that present ap- pointees to University and otherspe- cial committees as named by Student Legislature continue in office, and be responsible to Student Government Council until such time as SGC makes disposition of these duties, was ac- cepted.l Eskasia, local sorority, was author- ized to affiliate with the national sorori- ty of Sigma Kappa as its reactivated Al- pha Nu chapter. A committee was appointed to re- view possible areas for work space for Student Government Council: Mr. Levy, Mr. Diamond, Mr. Adams, Ruth Ross-P ner.1 Meeting of the University Staff. Gen- eral staff meeting at 4:15 p.m. Mon., March 21, in Rackham Lecture Hall.1 President Hatcher will discuss the state of the University.
