The performance, under the aus- pices of the Women's Physical Edu- cation Department, will open with a formal "Prelude to Music" by Handel, danced by Margaret Heiz- mann, Jean Isaacson, Caroline Sil- lick and Ruth Spitale. Following this will be two solos, '1arbara Mills in "I Went Down to the Sally Gardens" by Benjamin Britton and Bob Weigand dancing to the sound of a metronome. Several of the dances will be es- pecially in keeping with the Christ- mas season. "Our Lady's Juggler," choreographed by Jim Stasheff will feature Rosemary Scanlon, John Kazmierowski, Jim Williams, Lou- ise Lasker, Joan Pfeiffer, Miss Spitale and Stasheff. Miss Isaacson has arranged and will perform in "Joy to the World" with E. Marlene Crawford and Miss Scanlon. "Christmas Fantasy" will star Clarissa Knaggs and Miss Heizmann, who also did the chor- eography. Following these will be "Christ- mas Pony," arranged and danced by Sandra Bader and Miss Craw- ford, and "Hey, Mrs. Jones," with L. Edward Barrera and Miss Sil- lick. The concluding number will be a fairy tale, "Why Chinese Boys Have Short Names," choreograph- ed by Jennifer Allen and danced by Miss Heizmann, Miss Isaac- son, Gabriele Simon, Miss Spitale and Stasheff. Co-managers of the Modern Dance Club are Miss Isaacson and Stasheff, Music Group To Present Annual Show Candlelight Program Will Be Held Sunday By Sigma Alpha Iota The annual Candlelight Service of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, honorary music soror- ity at the Universily, will be pre- sented at 8 p.m. Sunday, in the First Methodist Church. The program will begin with Lu- beck's "Prelude: Prelude and Fu- gue in G Minor," played by Mar- guerite Long, organist. This will be followed by "Processional Hymn: O Come, All Ye Faithful" and the recitation of "The Christ- mas Story" by Carolyn Lentz. Meredyth Manns will conduct, while the Sigma Alpha Iota chor- us sings Bach's "Let Merry Carols Sound." Kathleen Rush, soprano, will sing "The Virgin's Slumber Song" by Max Reger and "Christmas Candle" by E. R. Warren. Following this Phyllis String- ham will present two organ num- bers, "Es ist ein Ros 'estsprungen" by Brahms, and "Schmucke Dich, o liebe Seele" by Bach, while Miss Manns, soprano, will sing two numbers by Arnold Bax, "In Nightly Stillness" and "A Christ- mas Carol." Mozart's "Quartet for Oboe and Strings, K. 370" will be performed by Patricia Ricks, violin; Phyllis Rode, cello, and Sylvia Sherman, oboe. The program will continue with a violin obbligato, "Christmas Snows of Sweden" by Gaul-Rie-1 ger, played by Elizabeth Beebe. The chorus will sing "I Wonder as I Wander" by J. J. Niles. Patricia Stenberg, oboist, and Miss Stringham, organist, will pre- sent Bach's "Arioso." The evening's music will con- clude with "Recessional: Joy to the World" and Reger's "Postlude: Fantasie" with Gwen Williamson, organist. YULETIDE ATMOSPHERE: Pre-Christmas Weekend To Feature Parties '4 By ELAINE EDMONDS and PAT NORTON Students will usher in the yule- tide season this weekend with a variety of pre-holiday events in- cluding pledge formals and the traditional Christmas parties. Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gam- ma, Phi Sigma Delta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Delta Tau have sched- uled their winter pledge formals for tonight. Christmas dances also planned are Martha Cook's "Twelve Days of Christmas" and Victor Vaughn's "Holiday Hop." Traditional Decorations Traditional Christmas decora- tions of holly and evergreens will lend atmosphere to the Christmas dances of Alpha Tau Omega, Col- legiate Sorosis and Kappa Alpha Psi to be held tonight. Also on the social agenda are the Tau Delta Phi "Pirate Party," the Alpha Epsilon Pi Indian pledge party and the Theta Xi dinner be- fore the Union Opera. Forty fraternities have sched- uled "kiddy parties" for tomorrow afternoon. The fraternities will co- operate with sororities in playing ,1 host to the school children of Ann Arbor. The parties will have entertain- ment, refreshments and games. An added feature at many houses will be a visit from Santa Claus. Pledge formals will also high- light the evening for many tomor- row as Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi, Del- ta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Kappa Sig- ma and Phi Delta Theta hold their annual winter pledge dances. Also on the list of pledge formals scheduled are those of Alpha Del- ta Phi, Alpha Chi Sigma, Alpha Sigma Phi, Chi Phi, Alpha Phi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. "Wig and Robe" Preceding the law school dance "Wig and Robe," Delta Theta Phi has planned a pre-party and Phi Delta Phi a dinner honoring senior law students. Other pledge formals to be held are Delta Chi's "Yuletide Inn," Delta Sigma Phi's "Candy Cane Capers," Phi Gamma Delta's "Snowed Inn" and Gamma Phi Beta's "Old Fashioned Christ- mas." Phi Kappa Tau, Alpha Epsilon Pi, Phi Chi and Delta Tau Delta will also give their pledge formals tomorrow. Holiday Atmosphere A holiday atmosphere will pre- vail in the evergreen decked houses of Psi Omega, Phi Rho Sig- ma, Alpha Chi Omega and Alpha Kappa Kappa as they 'hold their annual Christmas formals. Lambda Chi Alpha and Sigma Nu have . planned record dances for tomorrow while Triangle and Alpha Phi Alpha will celebrate the ad- vent of the holiday season with Christmas parties. Theta Xi has planned a "ship- wreck" party, while the pledges will honor members of Phi Sigma Delta. "Wives" Party The list of events continues with Alpha Omega's wives party, Phi Delta Phi's steak roast and Tau Kappa Epsilon's Parisian party. Also highlighting the evening will be the three quad dances, East Quad's "Snowflake Ball," West Quad's "Holly Hop" and South Quad's "Noel Moderne."'
