PAGE SEVEN Dances, Parties Will Entertain Visitors from MSC Glee Clubs To Present Joint Concert Rivalry between Michigan State College and the University will be resumed at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow in Hill Auditorium, when the Men's Glee Club of each school will com- bine to present a joint concert. The traditional tribute to the Uni- versity, "Laudes Atque Carmina," sung by the Michigan Men's Glee Club, will open the concert. Next will be Crueger's "Now Thank We All Our God," "Hymn To The Eternal" by Schubert and Bach's "Good Fellows, Be Merry" from "Peasant Cantata." The Nov- elaires, Glee Club quartet, will pre- sent "Do I Worry" and "Dearie." "U" Songs To Be Sung The entire Glee Club will sing "The Vagabond" and "In the Si- lence of Night," featuring tenor Tom Lester. A commentary on Rachmaninoff's "Prelude In C Sharp Minor," will also be sung. Dan Pressley will solo in the spiritual "Balm In Gilead." Spe- cial arrangements of "Sing Some- thing Simple" and "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" are also on the program. A collection of University songs will conclude the University's part of the program. MSC Program Beginning the MSC program will be a rendition of Handel's "Then Round About the Starry Throne," Haydn's "Maiden Fair, O Deign to Tell" and Brahms' "In Wood Em- bowered, Neath Azure Skies." June Cannon, soprano, will sing "The Omnipotence," and selected novelty songs will be presented by the Spartan Quartette. The Glee Clulb will sing "Lift Thine Eyes" and "Noah," a spiritual medley. James McMahon, tenor, will ren- der "Serenade" from "The Stu- dent Prince," and Kenneth Ish will solo in "No Man Is An Is- land." The entire MSC Glee Club will sing "Great Day-Hallelujah." CIRCUS, GOLD RUSH THEMES: Houses Plan Events for Weekend Junior Panhel Disc Several new projects were dis-< cussed by Junior Panhellenic As- sociation at a recent meeting. One dealt with the Veteran's' Rehabilitation Center's request for assistance. Members decided to send a small group of women from each pledge class to serve as dance class partners on Tuesday after- noons. Dances and parties will add a finishing touch to the home foot- ball season tomorrow evening. This weekend will mark the de- but of Julius Caesar I, newest member of the Phi Sigma Delta, in a party appropriately dubbed "Hail Caesar." Helping Caesar celebrate will be friends and guests from MSC who will be entertained by Paul Brodie and the "Stardust- ers." Armed with picks and shovels and full of hope, the Alpha Epsi- lon Pi's will start their search for gold tomorrow evening at their "Gold Rush" party. A covered wagon will provide transportation. Suppressed Desires Parties It may be the stress of studies that has promoted the Lawyers Club, Chi Phi, and Phi Chi to throw cares to the winds for their parties tomorrow night. The Law- yers Club and Phi Chi will hold a Suppressed Desires Party while Chi Phi celebrates its third offi- cial "Emancipation of Frustra- tion Dance." Carnival time is tonight for Geddes and Tau Kappa Epsilon. Sigma Chi will also join the fun <+ t tomorrow night with their "Cir- cus Party." Costumes, a big straw top and Joe Fodder's band will add colorful touches to the evening. "A Wax World" Something new in the way of parties will be held at the Sigma Alpha Mu house where students will come dressed as the title of a record. The party is entitled "A Wax World." A "Double Victory Dance" will be in swing for Phi Kappa Sigma I ,1croeQ Caonpu I tomorrow night while Nu Sigma Nu celebrates with a victory par- ty and buffet dinner. Michigan State chapters will be entertained at parties given by Phi Delta Theta, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Tau, Sigma Nu, Delta Chi, Delta Sigma Phi and Theta Xi. Days of the Spartans It's back to the days of the Spartans at the Delta Upsilon house tomorrow night. Togas will reign supreme at the "Spartan World Dance." Dungarees and plaid shirts will take the place of togas at the Al- pha Sigma Phi and Alpha Omega barn dances tomorrow night. The same dress will be seen a, the Phi Sigma Kappa "Farmers Ball." New Year's Eve is ar-iving a lit- tle early this year as Pi Lambda Phi and Zeta Beta Tau plan to celebrate the date. Tau Delta Phi will also usher in the New Year in style. Dances Featured Van Tyne and Kelsey House will hold a joint dressy dance tomor- row while Betsy Barbour will give a square dance. Red Johnson will play at the annual Stockwell formal dance to- night. The concert will provide an op- portunity for the audience to com- pare types of jazz with Campbell offering music in the progressive manner, and the Alley Cats ren- dering traditional jazz. Each playing for alternating fif- teen minute intervals, the bands will play some of their typical numbers. Playing tenor sax for the "bop" combo will be the leader, Alex Campbell, while Dave Kelton will be featured on the trumpet.
