Active Year Recollected By League A year-round gathering-place for many of the women hon- ored at today's Convocation, the League began the year by re- vamping its organizational struc- ture. The obsolete Board of Represen- tatives was replaced by the new Women's Senate, divided into three committees: Culture and Education, Rules and Regulations and League Evaluation. ACCOMPLISHING first the dis- tribution and compiling of a ques- tionnaire sent to all women on campus, the Senate found that the majority were in favor of present closing hours. The questionnaire dealt also with late permission problems and participation in League facilities and activities. Other innovations this year were "Keys to the Future," the first League-sponsored career conference; dedication of the Barbara Little Listening Rooms; the League Secretariat, a train- ing program for officers, and participation in the Student Ac- tivities Building project and the Big Ten Union Board conven- tions and conferences. This has also been a trial year for the new League constitution, with additional briefs presented for the reorganization of the Stu- dent Affairs Committee. Governing the League's affairs was the Women's League Council. Executive Board members have been: Susan Riggs, '54, President Ann Plumton, '54, Vice-Presi- dent Nancy Rein, '54, Secretary Iris Pumroy, '54BAd., Treasurer Barbara Bos, '54Ed, Chairman of Women's Judiciary Council Katie Wakeman, '54Ed, Chair- man of Interviewing and Nomi- nating.
