Schultz was well supported by his teammates, who banged out six hits against Chi Phi pitching, and played good defensive ball as well. A 7-7 deadlopk at the end of the fourth inning was broken in the top of the fifth, as Chi Phi pitcher Charlie Hamilton walked in the winning run in the person of Hans von Berthal. Schultz retired the last three Chi Phi batsmen in order, striking out the last two hit- ters. * * * LEE KRUMBHOLTZ had a hot day at the plate for Chi Phi, get- ting three hits, one of which was a two run homer. In other social fraternity soft- ball games, Pi Lambda Phi pounded out a 5-0 victory over Phi Kappa Psi, getting seven hits to their opponent's six. Lambda Chi Alpha spent most of the time crossing the plate, as they whalloped Alpha Epsilon Pi by the huge score of 23-0. In another high scoring game, Zeta Psi was trampled by Beta Theta Pi to the tune of 22-5. IN TIGHTER GAMES, ATO bowed to Chi Psi, 7-5, and Triangle was nudged by Alpha Delta Phi, 5-3. Phi Delta Theta shut out Alpha Sigma Phi by the comfortable margin of 4-0 on a rather muddy --- --- COMING SOON L"I must possess the man I love. heart, body and soul!" diamond. Kappa Alpha: fighting Delta1 score of 13-3. Psi walked over a Chi none by the at Major League Standings AMERICAN LEAGUE 'M' Batters Slain ayne In 1 1=1 Win (Continued from Page 1) in four innings. Lefthander Dick Peterjohn pitched the fifth and sixth frames holding the Wayne batters hitless while fanning five. IN THE SIXTH inning the Wol- verines came up with four more tallies. With one out Cline walked, and went to second on Ronan's single to center. Lepley forced Cline at third when Paul Zdeb, who had replaced Pearson earlier in the inning, took Lepley's slow roller and threw to third. Eaddy then doubled home Ro- nan and Lepley. After Corbett walked Pavichevich poked a double down the left fiield line, sending Eaddy and Corbett across the plate. Coach Ray Fisher, enjoying a comfortable lead, sent Corbett to the hill in the seventh inning. Cor- bett had moved from first base to left field in the fifth to make room for Pavichevich who took over at first base. s s HE STRUCK out two batters while giving up three base hits. Garby Tadian pitched the ninth inning for Michigan, setting down the side in order. The Michigan ball club receiv- ed 12 free trips to first base by the three Tartar pitchers, and knocked out eight hits. The four Wolverine hurlers allowed Wayne batters five safeties while they were mowing down 13 of them on strikeouts.
