I PAGNL E1GE!T THlE IITCTTGAN DAT T WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, 1954 MOTHER'S DAY FOR DAD: Strange 'Fingerprints' Greet Occasions "Christmaswcards for all occa- sions." That's the motto of "Finger- prints," a student-owned greet- ing card company which has re- appeared on campus after a brief bankruptcy. * * * "IT'S A SORT of get-rich-slow scheme," explained Janet Winn- Malcolm, '55, vice-president of the firm. "Our cards are designed for the people who don't ordinarily send cards to send to the people who don't ordinarily receive them." "For instance, we are planning a card for Mother's Day which reads 'Happy Mother's Day-Dad.' Most firms shamefully ignore fa- ,thers on Mother's Day. We claim the distinction of being the only firm in existence to remember this forgotten man at his darkest hour." The new selection of cards, which goes on sale today at a lo- cal bookstore, is slightly more sub- dued. The offerings range from thank-you cards guaranteed to outrage the recipient to birthday cards guaranteed to outrage the recipient. Any similiarity between these cards and Gargoyle magazine is not entirely coincidental. The per- sonnel of the firm is made up en- tirely of Gargoyle and ex-Gargoyle staff members. "It's just our way of trying to rehabilitate ourselves," President Donald Malcolm, '54, explained. The art for the cards is done by Stuart Ross and L. H. Scott. "We like art," the two declared, "it's pretty." Speaking of the firm's general policy, President Malcolm stated, "We favor the small businessman. I'm only four and a half inches tall, myself." t ilLA 1, r f t"k GET-RICH-SLOW CARDS FEATUIRE VARIED SUBJECTS SL A genda Student Legislature will dis- cuss the following motions and reports when it meets at 7:30 p.m. today in the Strauss-An- derson house dining room of East Quadrangle: SAC report Special May elections on aca- demic calendar Attendance report SL elections report J-Hop election report Order of Cabinet elections Academic freedom sub-com- mission Instanbul conference Heidelberg University report Honoring a faculty member Motion endorsing a forum on a current political issue Motion concerning member- ship requirements for recogni- tion of student organizations SL invites all interested stu- dents and faculty members to attend the meeting.
