Patricia Mann, '53SM, who will play flute and piccolo during the concert, was a member of the Uni- versity Orchestra, Concert Band and other ensembles while here, her former instructor, Nelson M. Hauenstein of the music school said yesterday. * * * AFTER her graduation last year, Miss Mann spent the summer at the Berkshire Music Center in -Tanglewood, Mass. This center was directed by Charles Munch, conductor of the Boston Sym- phony, which sponsors the center. The flutist auditioned for the Boston Pops last fall and began her tour with them in January. Virginia Hourigan, who received a masters degree in wind instru- ments here in 1951, will appear with the orchestra as a bassoonist, Hauenstein said. While a student here she played clarinet, he added. Featured on the program will be piano soloist Ruth Slenczynska, who will perform Liszt's "Concer- to No. 1 in E-flat for Piano and Orchestra" with the group. Miss Slenczynska, appeared here as a child prodigy in 1938. Tickets priced at $3, $2.50, $2 and $1.50 may be purchased at the University Musical Society office in Burton Tower. II TON IGHT 8 P.M.
