Leading off the concert, the Ohio State Glee Club, under the direction of Prof. J. Norman Stai- ger, will open the program with Bach's "Oh, Rejoice, Ye Christians Loudly" followed by "Ave Maria" by Arcadelt and a Bach pEasant cantata, "And Now 'Tis Time To 00o." * * * SELECTIONS will be presented by the Osugleecqs, the Ohio State singing group. Following their renditions, the whole club will take on a more lively mood and sing "Ol' Joe Clark" and "Tee Roo." A touch of Broadway will come to Ann Arbor as the club sings "There is Nothing Like A Dame" from South Pacific by Richard Rogers. Concluding their portion of the program, the group will present ;r "Campus Echoes" arranged by the director and R. Heine. AFTER intermission the Uni- versity Men's Glee Club will take A the stage. Characterized by di- rector Prof. Philip A. Duey's abili- ty as an arranger, the club will in- clude many selections beside col- lege songs in their program. Beginning with "Laudes Atque Carmina," their traditional opening hymn for many years, the program will continue with a special arrangement by Prof. Duey of Martin Luther',s "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." A Handel selection, "Care Selve," and Schubert's "The Om- nipotence," with a tenor solo by Toro Lester, will be followed by se- lections by the Novelaires. * * * ROBERT McGRATH, tenor, will be featured in Rachmaninoff's "In the Silence of Night," while Arndt's "Nola" will Feature Fred Coulter. The Glee Club will also pre- vent a touch of Broadway when t features Russell Christopher, baritone, with the club, singing Frank Loesser's hit tune from - Guys and Dolls, "Luck Be A V Lady." As the University Glee Club'sa final selections, they will sing "Songs of Michigan." Concluding the program, -the Glee Clubs will combine to §ing their alma maters. LAST MINUTE CHECK-Looking over the program for the com- bined concert between the University and Ohio State University Men's Glee Clubs to be held at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow in Hill Audi- torium, are Prof. Philip A. Duey, director of the club, Dick Ken- nedy, business manager, Don Smith, publicity manager and Bob McGrath, president. Tickets are still on sale at the Hill Audi- torium box office. Cranberry Ball To Feature Thanksgiving Atmosphere By RITA GEDROVICS Turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie will await students as they go home for Thanksgiving vacation, but before they leave there is the last football game and various dances and parties to provide en- tertainment. Hal Singer's orchestra will play in a "fishy" atmosphere at the Chi Omega "Aquamarine Ball" tonight. Notes, musical instruments and blue silhouettes will set the scene for the "Rhapsody in Blue" formal at Stockwell. Playing for this dance will be Paul McDonough's Orchestra. Informality and records will set the mood at the Fletcher Hall dance and Kleinstueck House is also planning a combined record dance with Adams house. Dressed according to the style of the gay '20's, men of Huber and their dates will attend the "Louie Sent Me" record dance. Following a dinner at the Union, the Kappa Delta's will hold their "White Rose" pledge formal in the Union Terrace Room. Play- ing in a green and white setting, Johnny Harberd and his orchestra will provide the music. Members of the University bands are planning a hayride which will be followed by their annual square dance at the Women's Ath- letic Building. Wishes of all sorts will come into the open as couples attend the Alpha Delta Pi "My Ambition" costume party. Students of the School of Pharmacy will sponsor an all-campus square dance from 9 p.m. to midnight in the Michigan Room of the League. Jerry Moon will call the usual favorites as well as some round dances. Admission will be 50 cents per person. Last of tonight's events will be a party given by the Alpha Phi Alpha pledges for their big brothers. Following the game tomorrow, Delta Gamma's are planning an open house with entertainment. Delta Delta Delta's will hold a campus- wide open-open house to show off their new addition. Dressed in appropriate attire, Strauss men and their "sisters" from Victor Vaughan, will have a square dance at the Fresh Air Camp. Phi Alpha Kappa's are also planning a square dance. German punch will be served at the Adelia Cheever German par- ty. Further carrying out the international theme, Kappa Sigma's will present an "around the world" party. Simulating a night club in Paris, Wenley will put on the "L'Heure Bleue" dance with Jim Van Brocklin's Band. The dance is open to ev- eryone on campus, with an admission'of 50 cents per couple. Skid-Row costumes and decorations will carry out the theme of the Alpha Kappa Psi "Apache Party," while gambling is also on tap for the Alpha Sigma Phi "Bingo Party." Tau Delta Phi's are planning a barn dance, the "Shoo-less Shuf- fle," and a barn dance will also provide entertainment for the Alpha Omegas. Centering around a Pilgrim's theme with log cabin decorations, the Alpha Epsilon Pi's are planning a Thanksgiving party where pump- kin pie and cold turkey will be included in the refreshments. - Dancing and a staff skit will make up the Allen Rumsey "Cinema- time" party. Some of the loudest sox will claim the attention of cou- ples at the Gomberg "Sox-Hop." Jim Gilmartin will provide mu-"~~ ~ - sic for the Phi Chi dance while the Phi Kappa Psi's will hold a dance with "The Diplomats," and Paul McDonough will play for the Phi Kappa Tau party honoring guests from Ohio State. 71.- Previews of Union Opera songs and music, as well as a nu.:a dance routine by Audrey McIntyre, will entertain couples attending "Cran- berry Ball," to be held from 9 p m. to 1 a.m. tomorrow in the Union Ballroom. Even the programs will fall in line with the theme, accenting a humorous aspect. Activities of the "Michigan Union Poultry Market" will be described within the red and white turkey covers. Couples will dance to the music of Paul McDonough, under a false ceiling of crepe paper in fall colors. * * * McDonough and his eight piece group have planned a wide variety of music, in the hope of satisfying the taste of everyone attending the dance. Among the tunes featured will be "Its Me" and "I've Hai It So Bad," both taken from thi year's Union Opera. Including piano, drums, saxa- phone and clarinet in his group, McDonough also uses trumpet, t. mbone and bass. Heads of Fortnite Announce Judges; Cite New Award Members of the Fortnite central committee have announced the judges for the annual skitfest and the addition of a new scholarship cup for the annual event to be held Monday. Judges of the skits will include Mrs. Harlan Hatcher, Martha Hill, president of Panhellenic, Sue Riggs, president of the League, Dick O'Shaugnessy, football cap- tain this year, and Jay Strickland, president of the Union. Fortnite means not only skits but recognition of scholarship awards and this year a new schol- arship cup will be awarded. Each year Assembly Association presents scholarship cups to houses in three divisions, those houses with 20 to 90 residents, those with 100 to 200 women and to the dor- mitories with 200 and above wom- en. The central committee of Fort- nite has decided to add another scholarship cup to the 100 to 200 women residences, because the large concentration of houses falls into this group. Affected by this addition will be all the houses in Alice Lloyd, Vic- tor Vaughn, Betsy Barbour, Helen Newberry, Prescott and Tyler in East Quad and Chicago House in West Quad. Members of the Fortnite Central committee include Judy Shagrin, Sue Blau, Donna Wolcoff and Mil- dred Knapp. Playing for the Delta Upsi- lon "Dixieland Party" will be the Ann Arbor Alleycats and the "Diminished Fifths" combo will provide music for the combined dance of the Delta Chi's and Phi Sigma Kappa's. "Gridiron Capers" will carry out the football theme for Phi Kappa Sigma. Psi Omega's will attend a masquerade party in "suppressed desire" attire. Following the theme of an acad- emy award gathering, Sigma Al- pha Mu's will hold their "Opening Night in Sammyland" dance with music by Chuck Thomas and his combo.
