The general theme of the two- day conference is "The Design of Industrial Plants." At 9:30 a.m. today in Rackham Amphitheater, another panel will discuss Plant and Community Re- lations. Students interested in architec- ture and planning will have an op- portunity to meet the members of the panels at an informal session at 4 p.m. in the Rackham Amphi- theater. ' 'The Sigma Chi foundation scholarship award was presented to the Acacia pledge class for hav- ing the highest average (3.20) among last year's 44 pledge groups. Interfraternity Council scholarship chairman, John Baity, '55, award- ed the three foot higlh trophy at the fifth annual fraternity pledge banquet last night in the Union ballroom. Fred Shure, '55E, gave the Phi Eta Sigma trophy to Kelsey House for having the highest scholastic average (2.73) in the men's residence halls at a cere- mony in the Kelsey lounge. Phi Eta Sigma is a scholastic honorary for freshmen men. A special award of 16 books were also given by a local bookstore to Kelsey for having the highest av- erage in the South Quadrangle. The Sigma Chi cup was won last year by Zeta Beta Tau while Mich- igan House in the West Quadrangle carried off the Phi Eta Sigma tro- phy.
