The Council of the local Chapter of the Society of the Sigma Xi cordially invites affiliation of mem- bers of other chapters who may re- cently have become associated with the University of Michigan. On Friday, October 31, there will be a representative from the NAVY at the Bureau of Appointments, to speak to pergons interested in their civilian Management Training Program. This is in conjunction with the Junior Man- agement Assistant examination as the Navy Department is one of the federal agencies which employs individuals who pass the test. The representative will be here to answer any questions students might have regarding the Navy's program. For this program, in- test is particularly in those seniors and graduates in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Sci- ence, History and Economics. The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Bureau of Standards, in Washington, D.C., is in need of Elec- trical Engineers with specialized educa- tion or experience in the field of illum- ination. The work involves research and development on aircraft searchlights and related equipment. Representatives of the California Research Laboratories of the U.S. Navy and the National Bu- reau of Standards will conduct inter- views in the College of Engineering on Oct. 28 and 29. All types of engineers, as well as chemists, physicists, and mathematicians, are invited to attend a general meeting at which a film will be shown, on Mon., Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m., in 1042 East Engineering Build- ing. Seniors and Graduate Students in En- gineering, Physics, Chemistry and Math- ematics. A group meeting for all stu- dents interested in work with the Navy Department will be held on Mon., Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m., in 1042 East Engineer- ing Building. Employment interviews are scheduled for Tues., Wed., and Thurs., Oct. 28-30. Foreign Teaching Opportunities. The Bureau of Appointments have several notices of vacancies for teaching posi- tions in foreign territories. These va- cancies include elementary teaching positions in Cuba, and additional openings in South America, Greece and Egypt. Two years of teaching experience are required for these positions.
