Vieing for the coveted first place trophy, Kappa Sigma will sing; "Tramp, Tramp" as their bid for the championship with Delta Gamma sponsoring them while Sigma Chi men will present their version of "Stardust" with Delta Delta Delta women cheering for them. OTHER CROWN seekers will be Phi Kappa Tau singing "Union Op- era Medley" sponsored by Chi Omega; Chi Phi giving out with "Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor" supported by Alpha Phi; Lambda Chi Alpha warbling "Winter Song" backed by Alpha Chi Omega; and Acacia offering their favorite, "You'll Never Walk Alone" as their entry with an Alpha Epsilon Phi e rooting section. The list 'of competitors con- tinues with Sigma Alpha Epsilone serenading the Hill audience with "Nothin Like a Dame" whilen Alpha Chi Omega coeds agreea with them; and Phi Gamma Del-9 ta crooning "Danny Boy" to Col-I legiate Sororsis supporters. r Other entries are Sigma Phi Epsilon competing with "On thes Sea" while Alpha Gamma Deltac offers encouragement; and Betar Theta Pi men presenti;g the everf popular "Battle Hymn" sponsored by Kappa Alpha Theta. Climaxing the program the IFC Sing winner of the last two years, Delta Tau Delta will entertain with a non-competing number, "A Western Medley." The Delts will be backed by Alpha Delta Pi wo- men. Judging with Sing entries will be Miss Thelma Lewis, Mr. Benning Dexter and Dr. Philip Duey from the music school. AS IN THE PAST years the sup- porting women's houses are re- hearsing novelty antics to present as the group they are sponsoring steps onto the Hill stage. The women have used "crazy" hats and appropriate signs as they participate in their role as Faculty Women Will Hold Dance, Potluck Supper "Swing your partner and around you go" will be a frequently heard phrase at the May dance to be sponsored by the Square Dance Group of the Faculty Women's Club Saturday night in Tappan Junior High School. Preceding the square dancing there will be a potluck supper at 7 p.m. An orchestra, with Mr. M. Van Ameyde of Detroit as caller, will provide music for the evening. Chairmen for the dance are Prof. and Mrs. Frank Hooper. They will be assisted by Prof. and Mrs. Robert Bartels, Prof. and Mrs. Willard Bateson, Prof. and Mrs. Harlan Bloomer and Prof. and Mrs. Lloyd Kempe. As a result of yesterday's elimination session, participating groups will be Betsy Barbour, Al- pha Omicron Pi, Pi Beta Phi, Al- pha Xi Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Al- pha Chi Omega, Alpha Gamma Delta, Martha Cook, Gamma Phi Beta and Alpha Delta Pi. BESIDES choosing the finalists, supporting houses were designated and the winner of the posture cup was selected. At the songfest sponsored by the Women's Athletic Associa- tion, Betsy Barbour sponsored by Prescott House and Cheever will render its version of "Three Little Maids." The Barbour coeds will be led by Miriam Broderick. Singing "Bahia" under the dir- ection of Betty Rice, Alpha Omi- cron Pi will take the stage with Kappa Kappa Gamma as their sponsor.. Members of Pi Beta Phi, whose leader is Ann Pletta, will present "Exactly Like You" cheered on by Collegiate Sorosis. FOR ITS SONG Alpha Xi Delta has selected "Christopher Robin." Its director Sally Hansen will re- ceive the support of members of Kappa Delta. "Floating Down to Cotton Town" will be sung by Kappa Alpha Theta under the super- vision of Margaret Hult and the encouragement of Mosher. Lantern Night Chi Omega will treat the spec- tators to their interpretation of "Cindy" when Linda Hiler signals the opening cord. Stockwell will be rooting for this sorority. Ann Alberts, director, has an- aounced that Delta Delta Delta's presentation will consist of a med- ley of moods and that Jordan will sponsor it. AN OLD FAVORITE, "When You Wish Upon a Star," will be given by Alpha Chi Omega, whose sponsor and leader are Vaughn House and Joan St. Denis. "In a Persian Market" and an American Medley will be pre- sented as the contributions of Alpha Gamma Delta whose lead- er is Maury Clark and Martha Cook and its director Sue Schae- fer. These houses will be supported by Couzens and Alpha Phi. Alpha Delta Pi and Gamma Phi Beta will harmonize individually on "The Prayer from Hansel and Gretel" and "Lady In Waiting." Delta Gamma and Newberry will support the leaders Rae By- ron and Lucille Stansberry in each sorority's attempt to win the first place trophy. Golf Club The golf club will meet at 5 p.m. today, on the WAB putt- ing grounds. All women attend- ing the session ° are asked to bring their putters. Students who do not have clubs may rent equipment for a nominal fee at the WAB. BARBECUE TIME: Co-ops To Stage All-campus Outing In honor of the 21st anniversary of University cooperative houses, an all-campus outing and barbe- cue, sponsored by the Inter-Co- operative Council, will take place at 2 p.m., Suhday, at the Island. To make sure that everybody will find his way to the barbecue grounds, students will assemble in front of Michigan house, 315 N. State Street, at 2 p.m. Varied activities for the after- noon will start with a choice of games. For students seeking com- petition, there will be races and contests, as well as a treasure hunt. Sports to suit everyone's likes will highlight the two-hour recrea- tion period preceding t'-e bar- becue. Guests will have a chance to work up an appetite by engag- ing in soccer, baseball, volleyball and softball. A meal consisting of salads, bar- becue meat, ice cream and lemon- ade will be served at 5:30 p.m. at a barbecue pit. Following this, an entertainment period will continue the after- noon's program. Arthur Rose and a few other members of the Rus- sian Chorus will entertain guests with a number of songs. Yoram Goren will play musical selections on his accordion and the Nakamura Quarette will also provide entertainment by present- ing a choice of their numbers. Starting at 6:30 p.m., square dancing to the calling of Ivan Parker, Dean of Students, will cli- max the afternoon's festivities. Group singing by the fireside will conclude the evening program at 10 p.m. If weather should be unfavor- able, meals will be served to groups in the six individual co-ops. Tickets for this event, which is open to everyone on campus, are 50 cents. Concentrating on a luxury lin- er theme, decorations will take the form of murals showing scenes from such famous and glamorous sea ports as Lisbon, Bombay, Cairo and Naples. In keeping with the atmosphere, couples will receive passport pro- grams as they board ship while members of the dance committee will act as crewmen. ABIDING BY the present trend in college dances "Cruise Continental" will be semi-formal with men wearing dark suits, tux- edos or dinner jackets while coeds don ballerina length or formal dresses for the event. Tickets for the "Cruise" will be $3.60 per couple and may be pur- chased from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., today and tomorrow, at the Ad- ministration building.
