It didn't take us long to get into the show crowding the steps of Angell Hall on those rare days when it was warm enough to sit outside between classes. Students fill the front of the building in a manner which makes the entrance look like Grand Central station during the holiday rush. A resort atmosphere encircled our dorm as most of, us prepare, to become bare-legged sunbathers on our trips South during Spring vacation. Some of the coeds will be fashionably attired in the new hour glass bathing suits which are boned to the hipsand then flair out into baggy bloomers. As you can imagine, a large portion of our allowance went for those clever sunning aids. With all the unusual sunglasses on the market, we just couldn't get along with last year's pair. One that particularly struck my eye probably derived its origin from the rocket adventure stories as one would expect the men from Mars to wear them. Then we had to stock up on sun tan oils, creanms, and lotions to enter into the latest controversy concerning the values of different products. With books in hand we finally made our trip to the famed arboretum. Now we know why everyone talks about that place. Looking out over a span of land that stretches for miles, one can see patches of violets, winding streams and odd sized hills being admired by picnicking couples. During the warm evenings or after classes everyone went off their diets and budgets to consume doubledip ice-cream cones. This makes me all the more anxious to get home and consume some of those good Wisconsin brands. Who says the Michigan cded is sloppily dressed? While we don't go in for the latest Paris fads advocated by some of the stylish fashion magazines, as you can see from the snapshots, many of the ideas being featured this spring found their place in our wardrobes. COATS SANCTIONED-Besides the ever popular belted-shorties and fitted wraps, closets this year will be filled with full-length dusters and coats. For her wardrobe Peggy Perkins has selected a full- length Motor Coat which has adjustable sleeves. Seen entering the car, Carol Goldshire has on a ' pleated topper that will make its first appearance on the Easter Parade this year. MERMAIDS-Bathing suits soon to be worn outdoors while sunbathing were recently donned by Marge Cook, Marilyn Miller and Yvonne Cousins as they took advantage of the Union Pool. SPRING FORMALS-Even with a slight drizzle marring the evening, coeds donned their new spring formals to attend the annual Assembly Ball held the first weekend in March in the League. Taking a breather from the crowded dance floor Sandy Stolorow, Sandy Norian, Nancy Dodick, Ruth Finger, and Stuart Friedman gathered around the piano to hear Frank Norman play. :' .; i r ---------- ..
