DAY, MAY 25, 1952 THE MICHIGAN DAILY PA .P -CAI I I CV ~' IAP A ri'.&iI AlA k im k*jt5 r i v!5 Kelsey Hous e OT VAL Al/IN II'LANNED: League Council Announces Summer Posts 1 Will Conduct First Tie Sale Men of Kelsey House in South Quad will hold their first annual Tie Sale from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in the West Lobby of South Quadrangle. The unique sale Is being spon- sored by the Kelsey House resi- dents in order to raise money for their depleted treasury. Coeds will be on hand to sell ties of every description. Red ties, blue ties and ties of every other color, exotic ties, vulgar ties and hand- painted ties will be on display for eager customers. Auctioneers dressed in the prop- er attire will hold an auction at the end of the sale to close out the stock. Free cigaretes will be distribut- ed to students attending the sale, as an added attraction. "There will be plenty of bar- gains for the thrifty male or the penny pinching coeds who. have to buy ties," exclaimed Dave Gut- tentag, general chairman of the sale. League council summer positions have been announced by the Lea- gue Council. They are Alberta Coehrt, presi- dent; Jeanne Freshour, Judiciary Council chairman; Marilyn Mar- tin and Faith Gillespie, members of Judiciary Council. Others are Jeanne Opiola, so- cial chairman; Frances Kochin, publicity chairman; Joyce Walli, dance class chairman and Johan- na Mandelstamm, Round-Up Room chairman. Positions for the regular term, which were not announced at In- stallation Night, are Lois. Klein and Joanne Waxman, script co- chairman for Soph Cab and Faith Cook, JGP call director. Summer school council is al- most entirely a social set-up. The only exception is Judiciary which carries over its duties of the reg- ular school term. v Since the Council is quite small during the summer it is more closely knit. The president, chief co-ordinator, also helps the chair- men. This cooperative atmosphere exists throughout the Council. During the summer session the League usually sponsors bridge games and free Friday night dances. However, a "free reign" exists in the social field and the League hopes to attempt new ac- tivities. Summer events will be high- lighted by the annual Beach Ball which is held in the League ball- room. The entire council will par- ticipate in the preparations for the dance. ~ 1 0 -, ., . .11 4 N / " C 'nr rsa P, I 1 :. « .
