WomanGiven Special Bid to Carnival

Women are especially invited to
come stag to this Leap Year Michi-
gras, according to Jack Hamer,
'52, general co-chairman.
"We expect women to come in
groups to the carnival this year,"
he said, "it is not necessary to
come with a date-Leap Year is
the woman's chance to take some
initiative."

AT THE EARLY Michigras fes-
tivities special invitations were
usualy sent out to women's groups
on campus requesting their pres-
ence at the fair.
An early chairman was widely

quoted as stressing the fact that
the carnival was for women as
well as men, and urged dubious
campus co-eds to come to it,
without dates.
Following up on this tradition,
the central committee has issued
a call to all women's residences
and organizations, urging them to
come stag to the Michigras.

THE FIFTIETH anniversary of
Michigras provides the opportun-
ity for a golden celebration, cli-
maxing the last 50 years with
Michigras.
Two years ago there was a

gigantic all campus turn out,
and this year, with women com-
ing stag, as well as with dates,
all previous records for atten-
dance are expected to be
smashed, Hamer predicted.
Another special attraction is the
1:30 a.m. late permission that has
been issued to all women on cam-
pus for both tonight and tomor-
row night.
"It's too good an opportunity for
any woman to miss," Hamer con-
cluded.
