University. Later they found that Rodney P. Rover, well-known hobo in the Ann Arbor area had innocently become the victim, of some over- consciencious spirits of Michigras. Rover Was coming down South University near Washtenaw when he saw two grimy pillow cases dancing to "Blue Tango" outside of the Laundromat. Upon seeing him they compelled him to follow them into the establishment. Inside, a fantastic sight met his eyes. Each automatic washer car- ried a complete color T.V. show featuring Esther Williams and was coming in clearly over the English Channel. Before he could settle down and enjoy himself, a stern faced shirt wrapped in cellophane grabbed him and accused him of harboring dirty underwear and carrying concealed grimy hand- kerchiefs. After futile protestations, two burly boxes of no-rinse FLAB came out of the back room and poured a bottle of bluing on his head. This apparently reduced his size. When he looked up he saw that the program had been taken off the air for playing "I Get Ideas." The door of the ma- chine swung open and a sparkling argyle sock appeared saying, "Come on in, water's fine." After a thorough tour of the washer he found that it only takes one hour to do an eight pound bundle. When police arrived they found Rover standing alone in the room. They wouldn't believe his story but after talking to the proprietor they found that he did not desire to press charges. He said that the phenomenon sometimes happens around Michigras time although he has never been able to under- stand why. In a formal statement to the press Rover said, "This experience proves to me that grime doesn't pay. From now on I'm going to come clean at the University Laundromat. It didn't take long for Rover to become a white collar man and he succeeded in getting a date for Michigras. He says that he has been inspired to write a book which he will title, Stir Crazy or A Night in an Automatic Washer.
