Any eligible junior women may pick up petition blanks in the Un- dergraduate Office this week. Positions available are League president, vice-president, secre- tary, treasurer, chairman of the judiciary council, chairman of the interviewing and nominating com- mittee, and parliamentarian. Chairmanships are also open on the following committees: candy booth, dance class, merit tutorial, orientation, personnel, public re- lations, special projects and social. Mortar Board Will Sponsor 1 'PaYoff'_Dance' In return for the wealth of folding money spent on them dur- ing J-Hop weekend, . coeds may invite their J-Hop escorts to Mor- tar Board's annual "payoff" dance, which will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday in the League Ballroom. This year appropriately en- titled "Something for the Boys", the dance will feature Ken Nor- man and his orchestra, well known on the campus for their danceable music. Mortar Board, honorary society for senior women, presents the dance each year for coeds who wish to express their thanks in an appropriate manner. The ballroom will be decorated in a black and white motif. Mem- bers of Mortar Board will design, create and set up the decorations. Tickets, which are being sold at $1.80 a couple, may be pur- chased from any member of Mor- tar Board, at the League and at the door the evening of the dance. Coeds may dress informally for the affair. League To Hold Bridge Lessons Bridge lessons, sponsored by the League Social Committee, will be given every Tuesday evening for ten weeks starting next week. Beginning classes will meet at 7 p.m. with advanced classes meet- ing at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the series will cost $3.50 and are on sale from 2 to 4 p.m. every day in the League Undergraduate Office. Voreacos - Roelofs Mr. and Mrs. Paul Voreacos of Whiting, Ind., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Eugenia to Robert Roelofs, son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Roelofs of Battle Creek.
