Satur- day, March 15 in the Union Ball- room. Tickets for the '52 ball; "Once Upon A Time," will go on sale to the campus tomorrow. They may{ be purchased at $2.50 a couple from 1 to 5 p. m. every day in the Administration Building. ALTHOUGH PRESENTED by the seniors and given in honor of them, the dance is open to every- one-from the spirited freshman to the staid o1' senior. Students In all classes will be able to appreciate the humorous decorative setting for the dance which will be based on modern- ied nursery rhymes. Characters from Mother Goose will bear close resemblance to campus "Joe Colleges" and "Mary Co- eds." Among the "personalities" who will be seen at the ball are Georgie Porgie, the campus wolf, Little Boy Blue in football garb, and Ol' King Cole having his ID checked at the door. ."* * COUPLES ATTENDING t h e dance will pass under the huge legsof the Giant as they enter the. At the entrance to the dance floor will be the large clock in "Hickory 1 I Coeds To Vie For Positions Affiliates to Petition For Panhellenic Posts Petitions from sorority women interested in competing for Pan- hellenic positions are to be turned' into the League Undergraduate Office Monday, March 10. Coeds are requested to sign up for their interviews as they hand in their petitions. To aid women interested in the jobs, Panhellenic has posted a list of the positions and their various duties on the bulletin board in the Undergraduate Office and presi- dent's reports will also be avail- able. Included among the jobs which are open are the members of the Panhellenic Board which consists of the president, first vice-presi- dent, second vice-president, secre- tary, treasurer and rushing chair- man. An associate member of the Pan- hellenic Board is the public rela- tions chairman, a position that was created for the first time this year. Also to be chosen are the cen- tral committee members for Pan- hellenic Ball. The committee in- cludes the general chairman, as- sistant c h a i r m a n, decorations chairman, patrons chairman, pro- grams chairman, publicity chair- man and ticket chairman. The chairman for newspaper publicity, stunts, displays and posters, and ushers as well as gen- eral chairman and secretary for the Panhellenic Variety Show are more positions open for petition- ing. A job open only to juniors is that of chairman of counselors. Panhellenic Association will present its annual Variety Show featuring Spike Jones and his Musical Depreciation Revue at 8 p. m., Monday, March 17 in Hill Auditorium. Tickets, priced at $1.80, $1.50 and $1.20, may be purchased by mail order. Box office sales will begin March 10. * * * BARB ELLIOTT, '52, charge of the production show. MUSIC DEPRECIATION: Spike Jones To Be Featured In Panhel Variety Program is in of the Famous throughout the coun- try for his zany, crazy music, Spike has surrounded himself for this performance with his usual bevy of friends and ac- quaintance Television Program The League will be featured on the University television program which will be pre- sented at 1 p. m. today over WWJ-TV. Cathy Sotir and Eth., el McCormick will be inter- viewed and an act from JGP, Bob Leopold and his Combo and an ensemble from The Women's Glee Club will be presented. His wife, Helen Grayco, doub- ling as a torch singer, Sir Frederic Gas, a "long-hair" in the literal sense of the word, and a two- headed drummer also number among the cast. . * * ON HIS Musical Depreciation Revue, Spike will introduce such numbers as "In; a Persian Mar- ket," an Oriental version of the Jones humor; "Poet and Peasant" with varying barnyard touches; and "My Daddy Is a General to Me," one of his latest. Also included in the show will be a zany number entitled "Bee- thoven's Unfinished Fifth" and the Spike Jones' version of "Some Enchanted Evening." Spike and a group of friends collaborated in 1942 to play nov- elty tunes, more for their own amusement than anything else. A prominent official heard them, sent some recordings to his firm and signed them to a contract. The group was disappointed when the redord buying public did not seem to realize that they were kidding, but with "Der Fuehrer's Face," Spike Jones and his career of disenchantment began their rise to the top. A photographer will be on hand to take pictures of couples attending the ball. Programs will be decorated on a graduation theme in honor of the seniors. "This is an opportunity for all the seniors to get together for one big final party," said Mark Sand- ground, general chairman of the ball. "We're going to make their dance one which they'll want to remember." Senior Ball has been held an- nually May in the past. The Senior oard, however, decided to break tradition this year and hold the dance on an earlier date to avoid conflict with pre-exam and pre-graduation activities.
