"All work and no play makes Reginald a dull boy" a law student was heard to quote as he asked a coed to the Barrister's annual dance, 'Wig and Robe', to be held. in the Union ballroom from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. tonight. In order to disprove the theory that law students prefer study to the more common weekend activi- ties the 'Wig andi Robe' dance started a tradition. The origin of that tradition follows: Back in the old days, BLQ, (be- fore Law Quad), an up and com- ing law student, Tommy Tortfea- ser, conferred with a group of his colleagues at the Orient, the local tavern. Tommy, recalling his m a n y weekends with the books, wrenched the pencil from his hand in order to pick up his mug of beer, and said, "Forty-eight years without a break is enough." With this historic background in mind, the Barristers are prepar- ing to continue the tradition to- night in the Union. Rex Smith and his band will provide the music for the dancing couples at the semiformal dance. The ballroom will be decorated in the Christmas and winter mo- tif with balloons festooning the ceiling. ,lcro'44 Catnpu4 I Wesley Guild To HoldDance Members of Wesley Guild will present their first annual winter semiformal.
